RWTH International Academy – Fellowship for Syrian Engineers
Supplementary Scholarship for participants of the DAAD scholarship programnme
“Leadership for Syria”
Preamble
This scholarship intends to support highly qualified engineering students from Syria to pursue a
master’s degree at the RWTH Aachen University via the organization of the RWTH International
Academy. It is intended to supplement scholarship holders of the above mentioned scholarship
programme for Syrian students, and allows a waiver for the tuition fees charged by the RWTH
International Academy.

This fellowship applies to admitted students at the RWTH Aachen University in one of the following
master’s programmes:
(1) M. Sc. Computer Aided Conception and Production in Mechanical Engineering,
4 semesters, 16,800.00 EUR in total
(2) M. Sc. Production Systems Engineering,
3 semesters, 12,600.00 EUR in total
(3) M. Sc. Management and Engineering in Electrical Power Systems,
4 semesters, 20,000.00 EUR in total
(4) M. Sc. Management and Engineering in Production Systems,
4 semesters, 20,000.00 EUR in total
(5) M. Sc. Textile Engineering,
3 semesters, 12,600.00 EUR in total
§ 1 Principles
The scholarship covers the full tuition fees for the respective master’s programme (within the
regular study duration).
§ 2 Requirements
Admitted students of the programmes mentioned above, with a Syrian citizenship, who have
performed excellent in their bachelor studies and have already been awarded the DAAD
scholarship.
§ 3 Duration
The scholarship lasts three or four semesters (depending on the regular period of studies).
§ 4 Registration Process and Application Deadline
Students have to apply regularly for the envisaged master’s degree programme via the
application portal of RWTH Aachen University. Along with a printed version of their application
form, they have to send the signed application for the Fellowhip for Syrian Engineers to the
office of RWTH International Academy.
Application deadline for the master’s degree programme as well as the Fellowship is 1 March
of each year. The required documents are:
• Filled application sheet ‘Fellowship for Syrian Engineers’,
• Regular application for the M.Sc. programme (PDF),
• Copy of DAAD scholarship agreement/admission.
§ 5 Escape clause
The awarding of this scholarship is dependent on the availability of the financial capital of the
RWTH International Academy student fund. There is no legal basis for students to demand the
scholarship.
