What is Dyslexia ?
1) According to the International Dyslexia Association (http://www.interdys.org), Dyslexia is a
language-based learning disability despite a normal intelligence.
2)Dyslexia, literally means "difficulty with words” (from the Greek “dys” meaning problem
and “lexis” meaning words or language). It refers to a cluster of symptoms that result in
people having difficulties with specific language skills, particularly reading.
3)Research indicates that 10 to 15% of children may suffer from some type of Dyslexia. In
India this figure may go up as multilingualism can also impact on the difficulty.
4)Research also shows that 95% of reading failure is preventable – by using appropriate
reading systems.
Can Dyslexia be cured?
Dyslexia is not a disease; it has no cure. Dyslexia is caused by irregularities in the way
information is processed in a brain which is often gifted and productive in many other areas.
However most children with dyslexia can success in school with remedial reading.
Funetics?
A mixed-media multi-sensory solution, Funetics helps to improve phonetic recognition and
reading in kids with Dyslexia. It incorporates all the elements of the Orton Gillingham
approach - visual, auditory and kinaesthetic.
Fun & Structured Solution for Dyslexia?
l
Funetics provides multisensory teaching which is simultaneously visual, auditory, and
kinesthetic-tactile to enhance memory and learning. Links are consistently made between
the visual (what we see), auditory (what we hear), and kinesthetic-tactile (what we feel)
pathways in learning to read and spell.
l Self-paced, mastery-based learning and achievement.

The game can adapt to the kids ability.
It provides immediate feedback and positive reinforcement.
Requires one-time investment and can be shared by many students.
It can be played without adult supervision.
Useful in smaller towns and rural areas where special educators are hard to find.
