WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE?
Grabbing a beer after work, meeting friends for a drink or sipping a glass of wine with dinner are enjoyable
moments for most people. However, if you have an alcohol problem, these moments can lead to trouble in
many areas of your life. People often wonder where to draw the line with their drinking, and how they can tell
if their drinking is a problem that they need to address. Fortunately, there is a free screening tool available to
the public that will help determine if an alcohol misuse problem exists.
Reserve your picnic and BBQ items here!!
Operating Hours:
Monday and Friday:
7 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.

The Substance Abuse Counseling Center, MCLB Albany, is encouraging service members, veterans and their
families, and civilian Marines to take a free, anonymous alcohol use self-assessment at
www.alcoholscreening.org. The assessment takes only a few minutes and will tell the participant if their
symptoms are consistent with an alcohol problem. If you would like to participate in a confidential, one-onone screening with our Substance Abuse Counselor, stop by the Prevention, Education, and Counseling
Center (former Chapel annex) Bldg. 7260, April 3rd from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. It’s important for people who wonder about their own alcohol use to know that alcohol use disorders are common and highly treatable, and
screenings are an important first step to take. The Alcohol Screening web site contains an abundance of
useful information. There you will find information on various topics concerning alcohol. Of course, any time
you have a concern about your alcohol use we highly encourage you to consult your physician for guidance.
If you need more information about taking an anonymous self-assessment please call the Substance
Abuse Counseling Center at 639-7941.
