FROM THE DESK OF THEASSISTANT PRINCIPAL:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
“Summer afternoon-summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two
most beautiful words in the English language.”
– Henry James
I just wanted to take this moment to thank you for helping to make the 2014-15 school year a
wonderful one here at Marian E. McKeown School. It seems like just yesterday, our students
were walking through the doors on the first day of school with the original McKeown School bell
tolling in the air. My, how quickly the time goes!
As parents and guardians, you are a tremendously integral part of everything we do here at
McKeown. From grades to behavior to activities, it is your feedback that helps us to ensure that
we are all working together for the benefit of our students. I know I can speak for the entire
faculty and staff when I say, “Thank you for a wonderful year!”
I want to wish all students, parents, staff, and all other members of the McKeown School
community and very happy, healthy, and restful summer! Enjoy!
All the best,
Steve Valente

FROM THE DESK OF A CO-TEACHER:
Wow! It is hard to believe that it is the last week of school. This has been an exciting last few weeks for
both the 2nd and 4th graders with the school concerts, field day, awesome class trips, spelling bees, a
“Rockin” play, and class picnics. Students have been making memories with their classmates, teachers,
and friends, as they end a successful school year. Wishing all McKeown students, staff, and their
families a wonderful, safe, and fun-filled summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fern Morrison
P.S. Don’t forget to bring a book to the beach!
