The Physician Assistant Program, Department of Family and Preventive
Medicine Emory University School of Medicine presents the
25th Annual CME review course for physician assistants preparing
for the PA National Certifying Examination (PANCE) or the
Recertifying Examination (PANRE). This is a 36 hour, four day
comprehensive review.
TUITION

OBJECTIVES
The Review consists of lectures to refresh the learner’s knowledge

on a wide range of core medical problems and content including
reviews of Dermatology, Pediatrics, Fluid and Electrolytes, GI Disorders,
Psychiatry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency
Medicine, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedics, Endocrinology,
Pulmonary Disorders, Infectious Disease, HIV/AIDS, Hematology, EKG
interpretation, Chest X-ray interpretation, OB-GYN, and other topics.
To benefit from this course participants should have a broad base of
primary care knowledge to assist them in passing the national board
examinations.. There is seven hours of pharmacology instruction in
this course.
The Review Conference is designed based upon the list of topics
potentially on the PANCE / PANRE as provided by the NCCPA, and
by review of the PANCE / PANRE board exam matrix of question
distribution. Obviously, the exact content of the PANCE and PANRE
exams is confidential and not known to the developers of the Review
Conference, and no suggestion is made that the Review Conference
or practice exam questions represent the level of complexity or
distribution of topics on the actual examinations.
At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be able to:

Plan an organized approach to prepare for the PANCE or PANRE;
Identify primary care topics that are commonly tested on PA
Board examinations;
n
Identify techniques based on learning theory that will enhance exam performance;
n
n
Utilize testing theory to avoid unnecessary errors;
Identify clues in test questions to help choose the correct
answer option;
n
Identify evidenced-based clinical knowledge resources to utilize
for studying;
n
Apply knowledge of risk factors, prevention and clinical
manifestations to arrive at a diagnosis/prognosis to create an
initial management plan for several clinical conditions.

SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed for all physician assistants preparing for the
PA Board Certification/Recertification Examination. This course also
serves as an excellent overview for Nurse Practitioners and others
interested in refreshing their knowledge in primary care medicine.
CREDIT/ACCREDITATION
This program has been reviewed and is approved for
a maximum of 36.00 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME
credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Physician
assistants should claim only those hours actually spent
participating in the CME activity.

The conference is limited to 260 participants, so please register early.
Tuition is $650 prior to 8/1/2015, $675 after 8/1/2015, and $700 on
site (Pre-registration closes on 9/16/15; onsite registration is limited
and payment on site is by cash or certified check only). PA Program
discounts for groups of 10 or more participants are available upon
request. If interested in program discounts, please contact Emory PA
Program. Alumni, GAPA members, Emory employees and active
military attending the conference will receive a $75 discount for the
full conference. Please indicate your status on the registration form.
CANCELLATION
Written cancellations prior to August 31, 2015 will be refunded less a
$75 administrative fee. No refunds will be given after August
31, 2015.
CONFERENCE LOCATION, LODGING
AND
TRANSPORTATION
The sessions will be held at the Emory Conference Center Hotel,
1615 Clifton Road, adjacent to the Emory University Campus in
Atlanta, Georgia. Parking is complimentary. A block of rooms is
available at the Emory Conference Center Hotel at a special rate
of $129 per night, single occupancy (plus tax). To reserve

(800) 933-6679. When making your reservation, indicate that you are
making reservations to the 25th Annual Physician Assistant Board
Review. Reservations should be made as soon as possible. The room
block expires August 31, 2015. Reservations made after this date will
be based upon space and rate availability.
