MEDFORD HIGH SCHOOL FFA OFFICER SELECTION PROCESS
2015-2016
The 2015-2016 Medford Officer selection process will have three components. The three components are
as follows: the nomination form, the resume and voting by the fellow members.
OFFICER NOMINATION APPLICATION
The nomination form is basically an intent to run for office. This form must be completed by the
member and his/her parent(s)/guardian in order for a candidate to run for office. The nomination form
(20 points) and resume (25 points) needs to be turned in to Mrs. Kopp by Monday, April 6th, 2015.
RESUME
There are many different types of resumes. Choose a style that bests fits you. The following
information should appear within your resume format (if applicable):
 Name
 Community activities
 Address
 Awards
 Phone number
 Honors
 Email address (if applicable)
 Reference List (can be on a second
page) with 3 people who could give
 Birth date

Each candidate must turn in four copies of their resume and reference page. The resume portion
of the election process is worth 25 points. Resumes will be judged by three people and their point totals
will be averaged to get the final score. Resumes will be available for FFA members to review before
voting. Late resumes will result in an automatic 5 point deduction.
MEMBERSHIP VOTING
Membership voting will take place during the school day –homeroom. Candidate’s names will be
placed on a ballot in alphabetical order and members will be asked to vote for no more than 8 people. Can
only vote for a person once. Voters will consist of 8th through 12th grade FFA members. 1 Point per
vote.
FINAL SCORE
Officers will be elected by total points earned on the nomination form (20 points),
resume (25 points), and the total number of votes earned (point per vote). After the 8 top
point earners are selected, the 8 candidates will elect each other to their respective offices.

position as a Medford FFA Officer. The decision will be made after a conference with the
FFA advisor, and/or the FFA officer team, the officer, the principal and/or the parent(s).**
Being elected by your peer FFA members is an honor. Serving as a Medford
FFA Officer is a very rewarding experience for both the individual and the FFA chapter.
Your term will be an excellent opportunity to help your FFA chapter and for you to
develop as a person.
