General Information
The conference will be held in the Ruth and
Tristram Colket, Jr. Translational Research
Building at The Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia. The registration fee is $150 and
includes continental breakfast, breaks, lunch,
parking and syllabus material.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants
should be able to:
• Identify essential components of care for
pediatric cardiac patients
• Identify innovative treatments to care for
heart failure patients requiring mechanical
support
• Understand the procedure for lymphatic
embolization and treatment course for this
patient population
• Identify barriers to transitioning adult patients
away from a pediatric setting
• Understand treatment options for mobilizing
patients during prolonged hospitalizations
• Identify the barriers and education needed to
support VAD patients transitioning to home
Nursing Accreditation
This activity has been submitted to the PA
State Nurses Association for approval to award
contact hours. The PA State Nurses Association is
accredited as an approver of continuing nursing
education by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Hotel Accommodations
A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced
rates at The Inn at Penn (theinnatpenn.com),
located just a few blocks from Children’s
Hospital. The group overnight rate is $219
single and double occupancy plus a 15.2 percent
room tax. Participants are required to make
their own hotel reservations by calling the Inn
directly at 215-222-0200. Please mention the
name of the conference when making your
reservation. The special room rate will be
available until Tuesday, April 14, 2015. After
that date, reservations will be accepted on a
space and rate availability basis.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
reserves the right to cancel or postpone any
course due to any unforeseen circumstances. In
the event of cancellation or postponement, The
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will refund
any registration fees, less a $40 service charge,
but is not responsible for any related costs,
charges or expenses to participants, including
cancellation charges assessed by airlines or
travel agencies. In order to process refunds
for course withdrawals, cancellation must be
received in writing by Thursday, April 30,
2015. No refunds will be issued thereafter.

continuing education on exciting and innovative
advances in nursing practice for the pediatric
cardiac patient. The presentations will address
topics from acute inpatient events to long-term
management of cardiac patients beginning in the
neonatal period and lasting through adulthood.
The conference is directed toward nurses and
advanced practice nurses who care for this
patient population.
