video router based on Ethernet switch. MDX2040 is equipped with a maximum of 44 10GBASE-R ports in additions maximum of 4 40GBASE-R ports. MDX2040 is non-Blocking for high bit rate video/audio multicast streams including SMPTE2022-5/6 uncompressed stream. Adding a new destination port to multicast stream or provisioning a new multicast doesn’t occur outage on the existing streams. MDX2040 has functionality such as link aggregation, VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocols, GSRP, IGMP and MLD snooping, and Layer 2 authentication. MDX2040 supports Layer 2 hardware switching and IPv4/IPv6 unicast and multicast hardware routing; switching/routing protocols such as MGLP, RIP, OSPF, and BGP4. It provides advanced filters and QoS and supports wire-rate and non-blocking switching.
