Meet Matt Galland of Animal Planet’s MATT ON THE RUN. He’s a 37-‐year-‐old running fanatic, photographer and pilot who enjoys life on the edge – literally. Matt lives in Utah with his wife, four children and dog. On weekdays, he teaches geography at Brigham Young University, but on the weekends, this adventure hound risks his life connecting with nature. To keep up with this dauntless lifestyle, Matt’s physique (he describes himself as a centaur) must be primed for these off-‐the-‐wall endeavors. With his two best friends Danny and Blake, a GoPro strapped to his body and a self-‐proclaimed mildly crass attitude, Matt is a man on the move with an unquenchable thirst to take on whatever Mother Nature throws his way. For six years, Blake Josephson has been trekking around the world and tackling nature’s obstacles with his best friends Danny and Matt. Blake, 39, is a runner, skier and self-‐proclaimed mediocre daredevil although he’s taken on death-‐defying heights countless times. He lives in Utah with his wife and their four children. When he isn’t traipsing the sides of mountains, Blake rejoins society as a general contractor. He isn’t afraid of heights, avalanches nor any of Mother Nature’s challenges; he’s just afraid of missing out. Danny Bryson is no stranger to danger. This 36-‐year-‐old thrill seeker spends his time ultra-‐marathon trail running, biking and exploring the mountains. Danny earned a degree in business, but before that, he flipped houses and dabbled in professional cycling in Switzerland. He lives in Utah with his wife and two children while he runs a ranch and listens to his old progressive rock band’s greatest hits (which are available on iTunes). But on weekends, Danny’s daring, dangerous side is evident; he jumps off massive cliffs, swims in freezing cold water and hikes to some of the highest peaks with his best friends, Matt and Blake. He always jokes about quitting, but the call of adventure constantly brings him back.
