two skin perfecting shades. The brand also introduces Good & Healthy™: five nutritious, plant-powered moisturizers
to complement the Good & Clean™ line of cleansers. New for summer 2014 is our first SPF 45, reef-safe, mineral
sunscreen and two IASC™ certified aloe based after-sun products. Meanwhile, Avalon Organics® brand announces
first-to-the world technology with our new, NSF/ANSI 305 compliant dandruff treatment shampoo and conditioner.
And finally, noting the burgeoning gluten-free trend,

brand launches a complete line of gluten-free hair and
body care products certified by the respected GFCO (Gluten Free Certification Organization).
Launching new products is a big part of what we do. But so is continually reducing our environmental impact. Back
in 2010, we lowered the carbon footprint of the Avalon Organics® green bottles by 46% by moving to 100% rPET
(recycled PET) from 100% virgin PET resin. That change alone resulted in an annual reduction of approximately
258,000 kg of CO2 emissions. It also reduced energy consumption by 71%, saving over 2.2 million kWh of energy –
enough to power 208 homes for an entire year. Since then, Avalon Organics® brand was named a Champion of the
Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national campaign committed to increasing the safety of health and beauty products.

Although these names an may sound similar to another, these molecules are very different with
respect to shape, size, performance and even function. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is a large molecule ingredient. Large molecule ingredients are considered to be mild, gentle, and non-irritating,
as they cannot penetrate the skin. In contrast, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a small molecule ingredient, and is capable of penetrating the skin, which can increase the occurrence of skin irritation.
