Mennonite School Tuition Assistance Application: If you are a student, or the parent of a student, in grades K-12 or college, who will attend a Mennonite school this fall, please complete an application for tuition assistance. New Sermon Series Today we kickoff our new sermon series, The Story – Your Story. Our focus is to live into God’s story of salvation so that God’s story will truly become your story. The Heilsgeschichte (Salvation History) timeline will provide structure for our sermon series as we go through the Bible, and will also help us see the bigger picture of God’s saving strategy throughout history. May God’s living Word enliven our community so that we can live God’s Word today and every day! The scripture reading for next Sunday, will be Genesis 1 and 2. WE NEED YOUR HELP! The local Service Club will be meeting on April 24th at 9:30 AM (in the Dorcas Room) to compile a mailing for POWER PACKS. All are welcome! An Evening of Music featuring Mackenzie Brubaker and friends, is planned for Sunday evening, April 19, 2015 at 6:30 pm., here at Mellinger. A free will offering will be taken to raise money for our youth to attend the July Mennonite World Conference in Harrisburg. Invite your family and friends to this concert and help support our youth. The Second Tunic 3rd annual banquet will be held April 24, at 6:00 pm., at the Brick Gables, 800 E. Newport Road, Lititz. Keith Blank is the guest speaker. MWC Africa Celebration: Discover the history and life of African Anabaptists at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 4 at Manor Brethren in Christ Church, 530 Central Manor Rd, Lancaster, Pa. Enjoy a panel discussion on Kenyan and Ethiopian Mennonites, and Zambian and Zimbabwean Brethren in Christ. There will be a sampling of African music and Ethiopian desserts at this free event as a way to prepare for Mennonite World Conference (MWC) Assembly, 2015. Panelists include Nelson Okanya (Kenya), Phil Thuma (Zambia), and Esther Spurrier (Zambia). A Community Night fundraiser to benefit Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services will be held at Isaac’s Restaurant (Greenfield Road location) tomorrow evening, Monday, April 13, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Twenty-five percent of the cost of your meal will go directly to CVCCS. A form is in your mailbox. Musical Concert: Preaching Peace is sponsoring internationally known recording artists Don and Wendy Francisco in concert Sunday, May 3, at 7 pm at Mellinger Mennonite Church. Doors will open at 6:15 and there will be a time for meeting and greeting after the concert. CD's and books will be available for sale (cash or check, sorry no credit cards) and signing. Opening for the Franciscos will be Mackenzie Brubaker. A $10 donation per person is suggested for the offering.
