The following chart outlines the pathway from registration to completion of the Gateway
Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Providing Voluntary Youth Services in The Scout
Association (QCF.) All candidates should follow each step in turn and must register to be
awarded the external certificate.
Obtain an application form from [email protected]. Discuss the scheme with your Training
Adviser. Your TA will need to sign the application form as agreement that they will approve evidence
submitted for each unit.
Return the signed form to Adult Support along with a £40 registration fee by cheque, payable to The Scout
Association, send to Adult Support, The Scout Association, Gilwell Park, Chingford, London, E4 7QW
The Adult Support Team processes application and registers candidate with Gateway Qualifications.
Candidate receives a Participant Pack and unique candidate number.
Candidate meets with their Training Adviser to discuss what learning is required and which validation criteria
the learner will work towards in line with their Wood Badge.
Candidate gathers evidence for the units and compiles in a portfolio, meeting with Training Adviser to
discuss and review. Evidence cover sheets are completed, signed by Training Adviser.
(If the candidate has already completed a Wood Badge for this role, evidence can be back-dated up to 2
years for inclusion in the evidence portfolio).
Completed evidence portfolio, evidence cover sheets and certificate completion form are submitted to
Adult Support, The Scout Association, Gilwell Park, Chingford, London E4 7QW
All documents must be marked with the Gateway Qualifications candidate number.
All evidence portfolios are internally moderated. Adult Support will contact you if there are any problems,
such as missing evidence.
Evidence portfolio is centrally moderated. The Scout Association informs Gateway of completion of the
award.
Learner receives certificate of completion from Gateway Qualifications.
