Description
The program addresses the educational needs of all who are
interested in the assessment, diagnosis and management of
psychiatric emergencies. Topics will include youth in crisis, violence,
geropsychiatric emergencies and models of care in a psychiatric
emergency department. These issues warrant an evidence based
approach to care in order to optimize patient outcomes.
Objectives
As a result of completing this educational activity, participants
will be better able to:
1. Site the benefits of integrated health care models.
2. Describe the international, national, and local trends and policies
impacting the integration of primary care and behavioral health
for both pediatric and adult populations.
3. Analyze recent research findings of integrated care models.
4. Identify strategies for provider skill development in an integrated
care model.
