APRIL PRAYER FOCUS: Pressing forward with a steadfast spirit as the Lord continues to build His church, especially in seasons of transition.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:
Care & Prayer
Volunteers are love in motion!
VOLUNTEERS who serve in METCare and METPrayer are making a
world of difference!
METPrayer:
The Bible teaches us that followers of Christ should continually be in
prayer, not just individually, but also corporately. MET volunteers
regularly lead us together into the Lord's presence. Great opportunities and
movements of God happen when God's people pray.
• Wednesday evenings Harold Browne leads a prayer gathering where
people bring requests to God on behalf of fellow church-goers, MET
ministries and MET missionaries.
• Early Sunday mornings, a men’s prayer team, led by Dave Chapman
gathers to pray for the pastors and the worship services
• Sunday mornings during each worship service men and women gather to
pray for the ministry of the Word as it is preached in the sanctuary. Lorrie
Doermer organizes this ministry.
• Prayer ministry with the Elders and Deacons is available to all who
request prayer and anointing for a specific physical, emotional or spiritual
need, according to James 5.
• Young Adults took the lead in inviting the congregation to a night of
prayer in March.
• All of the specialized small group ministries of the church, have a vital
prayer component in their times together, in many cases led by volunteers.
OVER
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:
Care & Prayer (continued)
Volunteers are love in motion!
METCare:
METCare volunteers care about you! Following in the footsteps of Jesus,
they provide care in many ways to those facing life's spiritual, physical
and emotional challenges.
• Deacons make hospital and home visits, and lovingly care for people
facing surgery, a family emergency, end of life issues, or bereavement.
Communion is offered to the housebound.
• Sister Care volunteers led by Peggy MacKay come alongside women
who are hurting and in need of prayer, physical care, support and
encouragement.
• GriefShare volunteers help to lovingly support those who have suffered
a loss.
• Hospitality & Care volunteers led by Marilyn MacCormack assist
bereaved families with after-funeral receptions, when requested.
• M.O.S.T. (Men Out Serving Together), led by Raymond Soo, volunteer
their time and energy to help with household jobs people can’t manage on
their own.
Our church is greatly enriched by the service of our CARE and PRAYER
volunteers!
