GENERAL
Yearbooks are for sale!! They are $15. Checks can be made to BRMS. Stop in the office
from 7:30 – 4:00pm to get yours through June 12! (We will be out of the office from 12-1
each day for lunch.)
The Lion King Jr is next year’s BRMS musical! The scripts and scores are in!
We have AMAZING AND SMART students
BRMS honors students with Presidential Excellence in Academics Awards for GPAs (grade point
averages) of 3.00 – 3.49 (Silver) and 3.50 – 4.0 (Gold). This year 99 students earned the Silver award
and 285 students earned the Gold Award. 384 students (that means that 69%) earned a B average
or better for the entire school year. WOW!
Free Lunch & Reading Program
Big Rapids Public Schools is once again pleased to be able to offer FREE LUNCH & BOOKS to all
children 18 years old and younger. June 8, 2015 – August 28, 2015; Mondays – Fridays between
11:00am and 1:00pm at Big Rapids Middle School.
Athletics
Remember that students who wish to participate in school athletics must have a physical on
file with the school. The physical must be dated April 15, 2015 or later. BRHS will host a
physical clinic on July 28th. Those with last names beginning with A-L 8-10am, M-S 10am12pm, and T-Z 12:30 – 2pm. The cost is $25. This is for 7th and 8th graders only. 5yh and 6th
graders do not need physicals to participate in intramural sports.
SUMMER HOURS: Middle School Office
The Office at the Middle School will be closed starting June 12, 2015 and will reopen again on August
10, 2015. Office hours are 7:30 – 4:00. If you are in need of assistance when the office is closed
please contact Central Office at 231-796-2627.
SUMMER MAILINGS: please make sure that your address in Skyward
is correct. There will be several mailings going out over the
summer, from the middle school and from our central office.
Having the correct address and email in Skyward will ensure that
you receive this important information.
