Colorado Springs Sky Sox - Pacific Coast League (American Northern)
Pitcher of the Day
Yesterday’s (unofficial) organizational
pitcher of the day was Shuckers’ RHP
Jorge Lopez. The Cayey, Puerto Rico
native (home of the Henry Barracks
Military Reservation) was sensational
yesterday. Lopez took a no-hitter into the
sixth inning and at one point retired 14
straight. He finished his day tossing 7 IP,
allowing only one hit, while matching his
career-high with 8 K. Lopez is 3-0 with a
0.78 ERA (23ip, 2er) with 6 BB and 22 K
over his last four starts.
Player of the Day
Yesterday’s (unofficial) organizational
player of the day was Shuckers’ RHP
Jorge Lopez (see above). The 2nd
round draft pick in the 2011 June Draft,
helped his own cause yesterday. Lopez
came to bat with a runner on second and
two outs in the fifth. He singled to right,
giving the Shuckers a 1-0 lead. It was his
first career base hit and RBI.
Say Hey Jaye
RHP Jaye Chapman (Shuckers)
lowered his ERA to 0.69 (13ip, 1er) with
3 BB and 14 K with a scoreless inning
yesterday. The Panama City, FL native
(birthplace of “America” co-founder, Dan
Peek) has not allowed an earned run in
his last 11.1 IP (11g) with 3 BB and 12 K
in that span.
The Magnificent Magnifico
RHP Damien Magnifico (Shuckers)
converted his third save of the season
yesterday. The Dallas, TX native (9th
largest city in America) has not allowed
a run in his last 9.1 IP (8g). All but
one of his 10 appearances have been
scoreless outings.
Coult Following
OF Clint Coulter (Manatees) has safely
reached base in 11 of his last 13 games.
He leads the organization with 7 HR and
24 RBI and is among the FSL leagueleaders in several categories including
HR (T-1st, 7), RBI (1st, 24), slugging
pct. (1st, .586), total bases (1st, 65) and
extra-base hits (T-2nd, 13).

Highlights
Iowa pounded out 14 runs on 16 hits to defeat the Sky Sox yesterday.
Starter RHP Tyler Cravy combined with RHP Chris Leroux to allow
14 ER on 15 H with 5 BB and 3K in 2.2 IP. Despite the start, four
Sky Sox’ pitchers combined to toss 4.1 scoreless frames, allowing
only a H, BB and 7 K.

Highlights
The Shuckers moved back into sole possession of first place with a
2-0 shutout of their in-state rival, the Mississippi Braves. Starter RHP
Jorge Lopez tossed a gem, throwing 7 IP of one-hit ball with 8 K. He
had a no-hitter and at one point retired 14 straight batters, before it
was broken up in the sixth. Lopez matched his career-high with 8 K.

The Arizona Brewers will begin their 2015 campaign later this year. They are managed by Nestor Corredor who
returns for his third season. He is joined by Pitching Coach Steve Cline and Coach Al LeBoeuf.
DSL Brewers - Dominican Summer League (Santo Domingo North Division)

The Dominican Summer League affiliate of the Brewers will begin their season later this year. They are
managed by Jose Pena, who returns for his third season at the helm. He is joined by Pitching Coach Geraldo
Obispo, Pitching Coach Jose Ramos, Coach Luis De Los Santos, Coach Victor Estevez and Coach Joan Abreu.
