Business Sponsorships are available at all levels. Royal
Family KIDS/Milwaukee Teen Reach Adventure Camp
would be honored to have you take part in the Starfish
Walk/Run and will work with you on a sponsorship that
best fits your organization. As a sponsor, you have the
unique opportunity to be associated with two national
charities and display your logo on our web site and
promotional materials.
Form a Team
MTRAC hosts two three-day, single-gender weekend
residential camps and school-year monthly mentoring for
youth above age 11 to work and play hard while learning to
build positive relationships and personally achieve through
esteem-building events like the Daughters of the King
Banquet, Artists Showcase, Sports Arena, Human Trafficking
discussions, and robotics. Campers learn how to work with
teammates to solve simple and complex tasks through unique
elements on a challenge course designed to help them “tell
their stories” to support mental and emotional wellness.

Facebook Campaign
Since 2008, Royal Family KIDS Milwaukee has provided life
changing experiences for foster children, ages 7-11. By
attending a five-day summer camp, each child is treated like
royalty and has the opportunity to discover their self-worth
and unique talents and abilities. Camp favorites include
swimming, fishing, archery, Everybody’s Birthday Party and the
RFK Talent Show. Children further develop trust and confidence
in our eight-month mentoring program which follows camp.
After children age out of Camp and Club, they move on to
Milwaukee Teen Reach Adventure Camp.

Walking or running with family, friends, neighbors and
co-workers will add more fun to your day. Now is the time
to start recruiting your team! Begin by making a list of
everyone you know, invite them to join your team and
participate with you. If they can’t join you, ask them to
sponsor you. Please note: Every team member must have
their own participant form (see left panel). Feel free to

Give an
abused child
a reason to hope
“Safe” is a feeling most of us take for granted. Yet
there are thousands of abused children in Milwaukee
County who have never known a day without fear. You can
show them what it feels like to be loved, valued, respected
and above all, safe. The Starfish Walk/Run will only take
you an hour, but your generosity will last a lifetime.

Then what to my surprise appeared? A boy of nine or ten,
I smiled at his exuberance and noted his frustration.
“One fish won’t make a difference son: You can’t change this situation.”
He stopped and picked up one more fish, then looking right at me,
“I can make a difference for this one sir,” and returned it to the sea.
So I went and gathered all my friends, my brothers and my cousins.
We joined in with that little boy and saved Starfish by the dozens.
There are still many to be rescued—many Starfish on life’s shore.
And you can make a difference too—
by saving just one more.

How to get started
Step 1: Register Let us know you plan to join us on
walk/run day by going to the online registration at
milwaukee.royalfamilykids.org or contact Annie Villa
at 414-573-6408 to register by phone. The first 200
participants registered will receive a free Starfish Walk/Run
T-shirt. You may also register on the day of the event, but
we can not guarantee a free T-shirt.
Step 2: Set a Personal Goal There is no minimum
requirement to participate, but you are encouraged to set a
sponsored goal of at least $100. Our goal is to send over 100
kids to the three camps and enroll many of those children
in our year-long mentoring programs. We hope that each
participant will find ten or more sponsors to help us reach
that goal. Ask your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor
your walk/run. Tell them the special impact these camps
have on the lives of abused and neglected children. Share

will be recognized on the day of the event. The top three
fundraisers in attendance will receive appreciation prizes!
Step 3: Collect Your Pledges This is a pre-paid walk/run.
Please bring your collected donations on event day. Make
checks payable to Royal Family KIDS Milwaukee. List each
sponsor’s name, address and contribution amount on the
Sponsor form for a tax receipt.
Step 4: Walk/Run Meet in Grant Park Area 5A and pick up
your T-shirt and bottled water. The beach area will be the
half way point. There will be food, entertainment, a silent
auction and more fun at the conclusion of the event. Bring
the whole family! Have your picture taken with our Starfish
