APRIL 2015 Dear Friends, Family, and Faithful Supporters, We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As the harshness of winter seems to be behind us and the unpredictability of spring weather draws near, I am reminded that, with each season change, come various trials that challenge us to remain faithful to God. These last few months have proven to be fertile ground to witness the faithfulness of God in our lives. Amidst the season of death and terminal illness in our family; amidst the personal health issues, the commitment to disciple new contacts and the challenge of raising support, God continues to keep us! We shared in our last letter that my mother had been placed on hospice on January 12, 2015. Even as I am preparing this letter, I am making preparations to travel to South Carolina. Things have taken a turn for the worse in the hospice process, and I must go and attend to some matters on her behalf. Meanwhile, we are excited to report that the young couple (Sam and Rebeccah) whom Rene` and I have been discipling, are growing by leaps and bounds. They have completed the basic training portion of the discipleship training and have moved on to the Abundant Life study. Sam is so committed to the Word of God that he challenged himself to read at least 16 chapters of scripture per day. We met with them on Thursday of this week, and he shared some of his spiritual battles since he made this commitment. Please keep him in your prayers! Rebeccah, as well, continues to grow and see God’s mighty hand at work. She witnessed, instantaneously, God’s healing power on their baby son (John), who was quite ill during the time of a snow storm we had here. After praying and doing all she could, God answered immediately! She shared with Rene` how she just witnessed a miracle, and how little John was completely healed! Her word of Praise was God is Not Dead! He’s Alive! We all rejoiced together over the great God we serve! Some of you may remember Justin. He has completed the Abundant Life study and has been sharing his faith in his military work environment. This young man has grown to the point that he has expressed a desire to take someone through the program that he has gone through. At the same time, he has started a study course to help him understand where God wants him to serve in the future. Rene` has challenged the two ladies (Veronica and Jessie) whom she meets with on Thursday evening to begin the Abundant Life book, and she looks forward to seeing God grow them as a result of memorizing scripture and living their life according to the Word of God. I do solicit your prayers for two men (Bro and Roger) that God has allowed me to meet with on multiple occasions but lack the commitment to respond to God love! Due to my necessary travel to South Carolina, we were unable to partner with Franklin Baptist Church for our scheduled missions service project; however, I would like to thank Pastor Brent Kimlick for his willingness to serve the military men and women in the Hampton Roads area. We look forward to rescheduling this event. Rene` and I thank you so much for your continual prayers and financial support for Missions To Military as we serve the military men and women of the Hampton Roads area. May God's richest blessings be upon you all! Thank you again!
