Mission Report - Mrs. Bowman`s 4th Grade Class

Mission Report
Your report should have the following:
Title Page
Title Page should have the name of your mission, your name, and the date it
is due neatly written or typed. Include a hand drawn picture of your
mission.
Written Report
It should be written neatly in your best hand writing, or typed on a
computer.
It should have paragraphs, each with its own topic sentence and detail
sentences. (At least 5 sentences per paragraph)
All paragraphs should have COMPLETE sentences.

The date the mission was founded should be written in parenthesis ex.
(2015) next to the name of the mission. Color the page beautifully :0)
Bibliography
Neatly written or typed- listing all the books and sources that information
was taken from.
You MUST choose at least ONE project from the Mission Tic Tac Toe
page. If you choose to do extra, you are more than welcome to for extra
points!
Remember, this is YOUR project- parents and siblings can help, but YOU
are doing the project. No bought model kits will be accepted as well.

When writing the report, each Roman Numeral should be a paragraph.

- What country built missions in California?
- What was its purpose in building them?
- What was the priest’s purpose in building them?
- How many missions were built in California?
- Tell one way that missions changed the way of life for Native Americans.
II.
Information about your mission.
- What is the name of your mission?
- What does the name of your mission mean in English or whom was it named for?
- Where was your mission located?
- Why was this location chosen?
III.
Information about your mission.
- What year was your mission founded?
- Who was the padre that founded your mission?
- Tell something interesting about the padre that founded your mission.
- Who was Father Junipero Serra?
- How many missions did he found?
IV.
Native Americans in the Mission System
- What was the tribe of Native Americans at your mission?
o What were their chores on the mission?

- Was your mission ever destroyed or partly destroyed? What happened to it?
- What original buildings are still standing today?
- How is the mission used today?

- What did you learn about missions?
