Region 14 of the American Iris Society: Award amount $500. Applicant must be planning on pursuing a career in the horticulture, floriculture, or a closely related field. Deadline: April 10, 2015. Check website for Application. http://www.aisregion14.org 2. Robert R. Criddle Jr. Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to a graduating Marysville High School student-$500. For this scholarship competition you will need to submit the application and 1500 word essay on how your hometown has shaped you into the person you are today and where you see yourself in the future and how you will get there? Deadline: April 10,2015. 3. Arnoldo Avalos Foundation “Aspire” Scholarship: Has been established to assist and encourage students in the advancement of higher education at the University of California. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates high academic achievement, dedication to community service and shows financial need. Turn in application to Joy Sweringen. Deadline: April 15, 2015. 4. MUTA- Marysville Unified Teachers Association: offers $500-$1,000 scholarships. Applications also available online at http://www.marysvilleteachers.org Deadline: April 15, 2015. 5. Splawn Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship must have a GPA of 2.6 and above, demonstrate financial need, have community service and/or employment history. Involvement in extracurricular activities. Deadline: April 15, 2015. Application should be coming soon. 6. Yuba-Sutter Cowbelles Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students from the Yuba-Sutter county area that plan to attend a junior college or university. First consideration will be given to students majoring in the field of beef production, beef husbandry or a related agriculture field. If there is no qualifying applicant, students who are not actively seeking a major in these fields, but who have been active in agriculturally related school or community activities, will be considered. Each applicant must meet the following requirements to be eligible. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must be a citizen of the U.S. Deadline: April 15, 2015. 7. Foothill Lions Club: The Foothill Lions Club Scholarship application is used for a graduating senior of the Foothill Community ONLY. The scholarship is based on merit as well as financial need. The Punjabi American Heritage Society Scholarship: Five $500 scholarships will be awarded. The student must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Deadline: April 17, 2015. 9. Kiwanis Club of Marysville: The Kiwanis Club of Marysville is pleased to offer six different scholarships to graduating students attending Yuba County high schools. Deadline: April 17, 2015. 10.Yuba Sutter Farm Bureau: Awarded to student whose parents are current members of the Yuba Sutter Bureau. Application is available at www.yubasutter.cfbf.com. Deadline: April 24, 2015. 11.The Robert (Bobby) Lee Memorial Scholarship Memorial Scholarship for Baseball and Softball: This $500 scholarship will recognize personal excellence, commitment to community, academic achievement, school spirit, and a commitment to lifelong learning. In order to qualify for this scholarship the applicant must have participated in Baseball/Softball some time during their education at MHS. Deadline: April 24, 2015. 12.Marysville Emblem Club #384: Award amount $500. Open to hard-working, motivated students involved in the local community and planning to attend a community college or vocation school. Must have a GPA within the 2.50-3.50 range. Deadline: April 24, 2015 13.Insurance Professionals of Sacramento: Insurance essay college scholarship is awarded to three graduating High School students who are college bound. Essay topic must relate to the insurance industry. Deadline: April 30, 2015. 14.Workforce Development Scholarship: The Sutter Yuba Community Foundation invites applicants for the Workforce Development Award. This is a one-time $500 award granted to a graduating high school senior seeking vocational training in an accredited technical or trade school program. Two or four year schools are not included. Deadline: April 30, 2015. 15.John & Karin Jelavich Scholarship: The Sutter Yuba Community Foundation invites applicants to apply for a scholarship to attend an accredited college or university. This is a one-time $500 award to be granted to a graduating high school senior. To be eligible for the scholarship, student applicants must 1) be a graduating senior at a high school in the Yuba Sutter area, 2) maintain a 2.0 GPA overall, 3) show proof of acceptance into a 2 or 4 year college or university. Deadline: April 30, 2015. 16.Sarah Jackson Memorial Scholarship: The Sutter Yuba Community Foundation invites applicants for the Sarah E. Jackson Memorial Scholarship for $750. The scholarship will be awarded one time to a local high school senior who plans to attend college and major in Education or English. Deadline: April 30, 2015. 17.Thomas A Iverson, D.D.S., M.S. Scholarship: Award amount $1,000. Applicants for scholarship must have a minimum 3.50 GPA, copy of transcript, name of college planning to attend, be a pervious or current patient of Dr. Iverson, and submit a 2 minute video about “Happiness is a choice. What makes you smile?” Submit video on a CD or Flash drive to our office by due date with required paperwork. All videos must be formatted to share. Educational Scholarship: The purpose of this scholarship is to provide educational assistance to two students with Hmong ancestry or heritage; seniors graduating from a high school in Yuba and Sutter counties who are actively seeking to enroll full time in the coming academic year in a undergraduate program of studies leading to a Bachelor or Associate Degree at an accredited university or community college in California. Deadline: May 1, 2015. 19.Agents of Change Scholarship: The Agents of Change (AOC) is proud to announce this scholarship opportunity for seniors that will be attending any community, four-year, or vocational college for the Fall semester of 2015. Requires a 2.5 or above GPA and completed application. Deadline: May 4, 2015 20.2015 Matters of Life & Death Scholarship Writing Contest: The goals of the Matters of Life & Death Scholarship Writing Contest are to help California students develop awareness of the issues surrounding aid in dying and to financially assist college-bound scholars. $250 - $2000 Scholarships. Each applicant must answer the question: What does your community need to know to support a statewide Death with Dignity law? Deadline: May 30, 2015. 22.Cien Amigos 2015 – IME Scholarship: The Cien Amigos – IME Scholarship Fund will award 150 one time scholarships to individuals, in the amount of $1,000 each, for enrollment in Fall Semester 2015.
