Admission Requirements • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university • Complete application to the Cratis Williams Graduate School Admission Criteria • 3.0 GPA in the last earned degree and official scores from the GRE or MAT, OR • 2.5 GPA in the last earned degree and official scores at the 25th percentile level from the GRE or MAT. The program may request that a GPA in the most recent 60 hours of graded coursework completed be used in place of the GPA in the last earned degree. Resources for Distance Ed Students • Distance Education staff to assist with any student support questions • A student computer and financial account via AppalNet • Library services • Office of Disability Services • Learning assistance programs – Writing Center, etc. Costs Off Campus Tuition & Fees - 2012-13 Academic Year: • $235.00 per semester hour - in-state student ($705.00 per three-hour class) • $820.75 per semester hour - out-of-state student • Tuition and fees are set annually, and annual increases can be expected. • Each course will vary in requirements for textbooks, etc. Payment Plan Option • The Higher One Tuition Payment Plan is an interestfree alternative to paying your college expenses. http://studentaccounts.appstate.edu/payment-options (scroll down on this page) • You may break up your college expenses into either four or five equal monthly payments for one term or nine or ten equal monthly payments for both terms (fall and spring). • Not available for summer sessions Financial Aid Federal financial aid is available for students who qualify. Finalizing Your Application • You must successfully submit your application on last page of the electronic application. • Order one official (sealed) transcript from ALL accredited colleges or universities attended (except ASU) • Send your application fee ($55) either online or mail to: Cratis Williams Graduate School, ASU Box 32068, Boone, NC 28608. Applications cannot be processed until payment is received. • Schedule your MAT or GRE soon (if not taken yet). Official scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to ASU and can take up to 3 weeks. Application Deadline The priority deadline for applications is June 1; once enrollment capacities have been reached, registration will be closed. The final deadline for applications is July 1. Application must be “successfully submitted” (completed) online with application fee paid. GRE or MAT should be taken by this date if not sooner. Supplemental materials (transcripts, references) should be received by this date or shortly thereafter. Admission Decision • Once you have successfully submitted your application and accompanying materials and paid the fee, you should log in to monitor your application progress and attend to missing information (transcripts, references, etc.) • After all application materials are received, your application will go to the department for a decision. The Graduate School will inform you in writing of the decision. Registration • Your admittance will go forward when you confirm your attendance with the Graduate School. • Registration information, instructions, and assistance will be provided as needed.
