Morning Session 1: Vacant Property Preservation Andrew (Drew) Hohensee is Assistant Vice President of Community Outreach for Wells Fargo’s Property Preservation team. Andrew has been with Wells Fargo for 10 years and has served in both analytical and management roles within mortgage servicing and property preservation. In his current role, Andrew collaborates with municipal officials nationwide to ensure Wells Fargo is in compliance with local maintenance and property registration ordinances. Andrew holds a BA in Journalism and Public relations, and an MA in Public Affairs. **Completion of this day’s training will earn 6 hours (0.6 credits) of Continuing Education Units through the International Code Council (ICC) and the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE). Morning Session 2: Afternoon Session: Animal Hoarding / Abatement 4th Amendment – Right of Entry / Sovereign Citizens Keith Streff is the senior humane agent for the Animal Humane Society based in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He is a certified humane agent and licensed Minnesota peace officer. He is one of only two full-time professional humane agents in Minnesota and has been an Agent with Animal Humane Society since 1987. He holds degrees in criminal justice and animal biology with an emphasis in forensic science from St. Cloud State University. He also holds certification levels I, II, and III from the National Cruelty Investigations School of Law Enforcement Training Institute at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a certified crisis intervention officer (CIT). As a humane agent, Agent Streff responds to formal complaints by investigating reports of neglect, abuse and torture of animals across the state. He is responsible for assisting local law enforcement with enforcing the statutes found in the Minnesota animal welfare chapter. Agent Streff also conducts training workshops statewide for academic institutions, community associations as well as municipal and law enforcement agencies. Matthew R. Silver is a Partner in the boutique law firm of Silver & Wright LLP. Mr. Silver’s practice areas include transactional and litigation experience in code enforcement, receiverships, land use, police services, and zoning and planning laws. He has extensive experience in the courtroom in both criminal and civil litigation, having handled hundreds of cases from inception to resolution. His experience includes receiverships over substandard and blighted properties, civil litigation involving individuals and corporations who violate municipal codes and certain state laws, enforcement of the Health and Safety Code, red light and drug abatements, ABC regulations, civil lawsuits to abate nuisances, obtaining injunctive relief, representing clients at administrative abatement and CUP revocation hearings, defending appeals of administrative decisions in Superior Court, and working with clients to develop efficient and effective systems for enforcing their municipal codes.
