Keith’s Quill The Jeepers have shown up with their amazing machines. It must be Easter! It is interesting that if you are a local Moabite that you will associate Easter with Jeep Safari. For many of the locals it is a blessing to have the business back. For everyone it is an inconvenience to not be able to turn left on Main Street. So if I were to suggest to you who will read this that we should have Easter every week, there would be much opposition to the idea. But here it goes anyway. We should be celebrating the events of Easter every Sunday. We worship on Sunday because it was the day that Jesus rose from the dead. We are celebrating the Resurrection and remembering the redemptive activities of Jesus every week. The Resurrection is so central to the message of Christianity that it would be very wrong to only consider it one day a year. The Apostle Paul writes, “If Jesus is not risen then we are still in our sins”. The proof God has given to the world that Jesus is who He claimed to be, rests in the Resurrection from the dead. Remember it was not a resuscitation that would end at some point. The Resurrection was something totally different then what happened with Lazarus when Jesus raised him up. Jesus was raised with a new body and one that would never die again. This Resurrection is the Christian hope. But it is still okay that once a year we make a big deal of it. Just like once a year we make a big deal out of His birth. Making a big deal out of Jesus is what we would like to do all the time. Any good excuse will do. So bring on the Jeepers every year. We will then all be reminded that it is time to have a party and remember that our Lord is worthy of our praise because He came and gave us an unimaginably great gift. But please consider that it is not just the fact of the Resurrection that is important. We must also have faith in it too. Jesus is alive! But unless you believe He is and seek Him, it really won’t make any difference for you that He is. May I wish you an amazing season of joy and love. 16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
