May 2015 - Community Church

Keith’s Quill
This has been an
amazing April! Thank
You Lord for your
blessings on your
people. We began
with a wonderful
Easter Sunrise service
and a blessed worship
service at church. We
had Missionaries Tom
and Terry Meyers
reminding us of how
the Lord can use
ordinary people in
extraordinary ways.
We were challenged
to “adopt” a
Compassion Child.
And we hosted two
groups of young
people on a Sunday
morning that
reminded us that God
is still working mightily
with His church. As
you have time to look
over this month’s
calendar you might
also see that May will
also be a full and
inspirational time.
God continues to
bless His church and I
wanted to begin this
article to you with a
heartfelt affirmation of
that fact.
Also in the article I
want to encourage us
to pray. Just turn on
the evening news and
you will be given a full
list of important prayer
concerns. There are
some Church items
that I would like you to
be remembering too.
One of the first prayer
requests is our
upcoming Vacation
Bible School. Tammy
Thayn always does a
great job in
coordinating our VBS.
She constantly needs
more volunteers. You
would be shocked to
know how many
people it does require
to have a successful
Bible School for one
hundred children. So
please consider
praying and perhaps
even volunteering.
Also pray for the
young people in our
church. We plan on
celebrating the
Graduation of our
Seniors from high
school in May and one
of the promises we
make to them is that
we will pray for them
as they begin new
things in their lives.
Also pray for the
unity of the church.
We have had such a
sweet spirit of
cooperation and
fellowship in our
church for a long time.
There seems to me to
be a continual
undercurrent, sent
from the enemy of our
souls, of
disagreement and
then sometimes
animosity. Pray that
even in our differences we can stay
committed to Jesus
and to building His
kingdom. Pray for the
precious people in our
town that still need to
come to the Lord for
salvation. Pray that
each of us in the
church will have a
desire to share the
Good News with them.
It is a great time to
live in the Moab
Community and an
even better time to be
a follower of Jesus.
Let’s leverage both of
these blessings into
some fruitful service
this May. Thank you
to each one who is
serving and
supporting this work.
May God bless you
with every blessing.
