“Young professionals here have the opportunity
to shine.”
Dan Schenkat
MONROE
Victoria’s not kidding about the
cheese: we sweep world class
competitions every year. We’ve
got the 2nd oldest still
active Brewery in the
U.S., too. Or take your pick
from live music hangouts, a
variety of restaurants, even fine
top-chef dining. Victoria
will be happy to share a lot
about Green County: she’s the
County Extension agent. And
she’s passionate about life
here: walking to work, to-diefor chocolates (just ask where),
even keeping bees in her
down time (we kid you not).
But her favorite thing: “I love
helping great people make all
kinds of fun connections.”
Dan Schenkat and Shayna
“I made the leap and haven’t looked
back since.”
You know Bethany and Nick Jarvis. Or you will soon.
They’ll be gearing up next to you at the Green County
Bike-a-Thon, warm smiles and a handshake ready.
Get used to it; friendliness is contagious around
here.
Green County has lots of young professionals
from all walks who enjoy getting to know each other. So
you might be working on the same civic organizations
with Nick, or crossing paths with Bethany and her dog
Mallie on the hiking trails.
Of course, all the biking, hiking, backpacking
and kayaking you could want are sure to make you
hungry. You’re in luck, because Green County loves
great food. Take a tip from Victoria Solomon:
“We’ve got some of the best cheeses in
the world, and famous beers.”

NEW GLARUS
Pearson will echo that.
He’s a pharmacist at The Monroe Clinic where he gets
to lead every day. Shayna is a single mom with a brand
new dental practice. “A lot of the clients I work with
have become good friends, which is really cool,”
Shayna says.
Sure, Dan and Shayna love having private time to
pursue their personal hobbies. Dan does triathlons;
Shayna does yoga. But they love getting out, too.
So they may just save you a space or two at one of
the many rocking bands on the Square—and that
space can be hard to come by. But don’t worry: we’ve
got plenty of festivals, too.
Yes, everyone works; Bethany in Marketing,
Nick teaches, and many others are growing their
careers and professions. What makes Green
County truly special, then? When you’re so connected
every day, you can really celebrate a great life.
