Dates to Remember STAFFING I wish to advise our families that Mr Justin Hunter has resigned from his position as Classroom Teacher at Mooroopna Primary School. Mrs Jenny Pracy will be replacing him for the remainder of Term 1. We are currently advertising for a permanent replacement and at this stage we expect to make an appointment during the upcoming school holidays, ready to begin day one of Term 2. Over the next few months Mrs Liz Young will be attending a meetings with teachers from the other schools and kindergartens to implement this valuable program in our school. PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS Parent teacher interviews will be held the first week of Term 2. Interview times will be 4pm-6.50pm on Thursday April 16th and 9am-12.50pm on Friday April 17th. The Friday will be a pupil free day and students are invited to attend interviews. Included in this newsletter is the interview request form. 10 minutes is allocated for each interview. Please complete the interview booking request and return to school as soon as possible. HEAD LICE Unfortunately head lice are becoming quite prevalent in the school. It would be appreciated if all parents would check their children for lice and eggs regularly and treat as required. Head lice treatments are readily available from the pharmacy or there are many natural remedies to be found on the internet. VOLUNTEER’S NEEDED The Parent’s Club will be hosting a fund raising BBQ in the car park at Woolworths, Mooroopna on Saturday 14th March, 2015. Volunteers will be needed to man the BBQ in 1 hour blocks between 10am and 2pm. If you are able to assist please contact the school office . EASTER RAFFLE Our annual Easter Raffle is happening again and the prizes are assorted hampers. We would be grateful if each family donated chocolate Easter Eggs or soft toys. There will be boxes in each classroom and the office for donations to be placed in. Donations of baskets for the hampers would also be greatly appreciated. The hamper winners will be announced at the Easter Bonnet Parade, which will be held on the last day of Term 1, Friday 27th March, 2015. YEAR 5/6 CAMP The campers headed off on Wednesday morning and will return at 3pm on Friday afternoon. We look forward to hearing some camp stories next week. BOOT BANK The Boot Bank bin has arrived and is located outside the main office. Donations of football/soccer boots would be appreciated. The bin will be collected on 20th March. Line a 28cm x 18cm lamington pan with baking paper. Combine Nestle sweetened condensed milk, Nestle baking cocoa, flour, sugar, hazelnut, coconut and butter in a medium bowl; mix well. Spoon mixture into prepared pan and press Nestle milk choc bits on top. Bake 20-25 minutes; cool in pan before cutting into slices to serve. Fees for the 2015 Season are $35.00/person. This includes a Club Training Top, Pair of Socks & Drink Bottle. Sample tops will be available for sizing on Registration Night. If you have an old dress and wish to sell it then please place in a plastic bag with your name, phone number & asking price on it so that it can be onsold. Mooroopna Cats Basketball Club Winter Registrations 2015 All registrations will be completed online through Sporting Pulse NO CASH will be taken. Winter Competition start’s on 20th April 2015 The cost for the season is $50.00 per player. All players need to be registered with the GSBA for the winter season this covers your players Insurance $49.93 per player. Please note that registrations will close on Saturday 28th March. (Note: No exceptions) VNA will need to be completed and paid online before Thursday 12th March, 2015. A copy of the VNA registration receipt is required for our Club records and is to be handed in on Registration Night.
