The Moubment Group is a
boutique hospitality group based
in Newstead, Brisbane.
Born from a passion to unite people and
commemorate special moments through
food and drink, The Moubment Group’s
name has become synonymous with
outstanding bar and dining experiences.
Having received a number of accolades
from Australia’s leading food and lifestyle

the heart of Fortitude Valley, Laruche
(French for ‘the beehive’) offers much
more than your typical night out.
Split over two levels, the venue hosts two
bars, a designated outdoor smoking area
and a restaurant-kitchen. Since opening in

Tucked away behind the hustle and bustle
of James Street in Fortitude Valley, Gerard’s
Bar provides an opportunity for escapism.
A place inspired by the tapas bars found in the
back alleys of Barcelona, where friends while
away the hours sipping drinks and grazing on
charcuterie. The menu includes artisan meats
and house-made salumi, which guests are
invited to select from the bar’s impressive
meat cabinet. A selection of wines, sherries,
beers, spirits and aperitifs have been chosen
to complement the bar’s food offering.

Year for 2014/15, Gerard’s Bistro is a critic
favourite, located amongst James Street’s
stylish restaurant and retail offerings.
Diners’ taste buds are taken on a journey

Hatch & Co. offers a relaxed dining
experience at Gasworks Plaza.
The restaurant boasts a welcoming
atmosphere, with guests able to enjoy the
Brisbane sunshine and river breezes from
the alfresco dining area, overlooking the
precinct’s heritage listed gasometer. The
menu draws inspiration from the principles
of traditional slow cooking to create rustic,
home-style dishes. The range of meals

The Mero Kitchen and Bar offers an

of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, with its

wine (merum), The Mero puts a contemporary

As the creative director of the
company, Elie leads the design team
in developing the concepts and
theming for the Moubment Group’s
venues. Elie was responsible for
opening The Moubment Group’s
first venue, Lychee Lounge in 1999,
which is now recognised as one
of Brisbane’s best cocktail bars.
Johnny is the operations manager
of The Moubment Group, looking
after the everyday running of
the company’s businesses. After
studying film at Griffith University
and enjoying success in the industry
for a number of years, Johnny
joined his brothers to grow their
burgeoning hospitality business.
Judith is human resource manager
of the company. As the backbone of
the business, Judith liaises with The
Moubment Group’s venue managers
to ensure everything runs smoothly.
She is also responsible for the hiring
of new talent, contract administration
and reporting.

Katie is head of marketing and
events at The Moubment Group.
Whether she’s arranging an
international DJ act, organising a
bar opening or planning a Melbourne
Cup marquee, Katie’s innovative
ideas and attention to detail ensure
every event is unforgettable.
Ella is head of functions planning at
the company. The endless organiser,
Ella is responsible for arranging
functions across The Moubment
Group’s venues, from corporate
events to cocktail parties. Ella also
works with the marketing team
to develop creative promotional
concepts across a range of projects.
Our resident creative genius, Christyn
is responsible for creating the
marketing collateral and promotional
material for the company across
digital and print platforms.
Mel is the business development
manager of the company and
oversees the acquirement and
management of the venues’ spaces.
Having managed retail stores for
a number of years prior to joining
the family business, Mel has
vast experience with commercial
property and finance management.
Charlotte is the public relations
and digital marketing manager of
the business. Never far from her
iPhone, she oversees the company’s
social media activity and liaises
with local and national media to
manage the Group’s profile across
traditional and new media platforms.

Award-winning chef, Ben Williamson,
joined the business in 2012 and
leads the kitchen team at MiddleEastern eatery Gerard’s Bistro and
its sister venue Gerard’s Bar. Ben
now works with chefs across The
Moubment Group’s portfolio, acting
as a consultant and mentor.

Daniel ‘Pas’ Pasley is our man
about town and group manager of
The Moubment Group’s venues.
As head chief at Laruche, Pas
oversees the everyday running of the
bar including stock management,
rostering and reporting.
PERRYN COLLIER
FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER
Perry ‘Pez’ Collier is an awardwinning mixologist and venue
manager of West End stalwart,
Lychee Lounge. Pez also consults
with many of the Group’s sommeliers
and bar mangers to create innovative
cocktail lists and drinks menus.
