An estate of
distinction
in Derbyshire
“Welcome to ‘Locko’, which has been in my
family since my ancestor John Lowe acquired
the Estate in 1747 during the reign of George
II and it remains a family home. The name
‘Locko’ is derived partly from the old French
‘loques’ meaning rags, and in the 13th century
there was a hospital for lepers, built by the
order of St Lazarus, behind the house you see
today.
Locko Hall is a Grade II* listed building which
has been beautifully restored over the last 50
years. The stunning parkland was laid out in
1792 by William Emes who landscaped much
in the style of Capability Brown.
After looking through our website we hope
you will agree that the fine setting and
unique atmosphere of Locko is the perfect
venue for any special occasion.”

An exclusive
wedding location
Locko Park is licensed to hold civil wedding
ceremonies in part of the main hall itself and
the front park is also available for the siting of
a marquee should you wish to also hold your
reception here. This location enjoys beautiful
views over the lake and looking back towards
the hall. There are many scenic and attractive
areas for photo opportunities, particularly
the elegant Italiante Rose Garden.
The number of weddings held at Locko is
limited and, as a matter of principle, we only
accommodate one per day, so you will have
the exclusive use of the agreed area and our
undivided attention. The charges are for the
hire of the venue only, as we do not offer any
‘packages’. We have found this arrangement
ideally suits those of you who prefer to have
complete autonomy over the way your day
is organised.

The two rooms available for ceremonies
differ in their style and size:
The magnificent dining room decorated
in traditional style with rich colours and
stunning panel-painted ceiling is warm and
more intimate. It is ideal for the smaller
ceremonies and seats up to 60 people.
The billiard room which is light and airy and
also has a beautiful painted ceiling is of larger
proportions and can seat up to 100 people.
The Picture Gallery, with an impressive
glass atrium is charming and bright and leads
onto the beautiful porticoed entrance, and is
perfect for your post-ceremony reception of
canapés and champagne!
If you are interested in holding your wedding
and/or reception at Locko Park and would

been the venue for many diverse and varied events, such as VIP

offer any ‘packages’. We have found this arrangement ideally
suits those of you who prefer to have complete autonomy over
the way your event is organised.
If you want a venue that adds a touch of class, any one of our
three function rooms, which vary in size and style, will not
disappoint:,
The beautiful parkland setting is an ideal venue for many types

events have all be held at Locko Park with great success.
