Code # 100: ZUMBA DANCE FITNESS WORKOUT (1st session only
for 3 days)
Time: 8:00 am – 9:30 am

Mini-course Description:
Zumba is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and
choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s.[1] Zumba is a
trademark owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates
hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Squats and lunges are
also included.[2] Zumba Fitness, the owner of the Zumba program, does not
charge licensing fees to gyms or fitness centers.[3] Approximately 15
million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 140,000 locations across
more than 185 countries.[4]

Mini-course Description:
Learn basic crocheting stitches to make cellphone cases, small purses,
wallets, etc. for personal use or small gifts to friends or family.
Requirement:
• Crochet hook with matching yarn / thread
• Bring your materials before coming to the class
Note: Crochet hooks and yarns may be purchased at Liberty Plaza at
Garapan or Joeten Store at Susupe.
Code # 100B: COOKING JAPANESE FOOD (2nd and 3rd sessions for 3
days)

Mini-course Description:
• In this course students will learn about Japanese food preparation.
- 1st Day: SUKIYAKI (beef & vegetables, hot pot style)
- 2nd Day: PORK GINGER
- 3rd Day: DORAYAKI (Japanese sweets)
Requirement:
• Interested students should pay $8.00 for the ingredients
• Students must pay on or before the start of the mini-course

Mini-course Description:
Do you want to unleash your inner creative beast into fun craft projects? But
perhaps you are worried your creative wolf is really just a poodle. Don’t fret.
Templates to launch your artistic cunning are supplied. Choose from many
mediums to express your ingenuity. Everyday will bring a different theme
(holidays, sports/games, Saipan) along with a new competition and prizes.
It’s a new day . . . a new and improved Doodle Day.

Mini-course Description:
This course is designed to give students a brief look on how to perform
well and how they can develop their skills and knowledge at the game.
By the end of the session student or players will improve their skills &
knowledge of the game.
Requirement:
• Students must be in PE uniforms
• Basketball shoes, water bottle and face towel
Code # 100E: ELECTRONIC AND HEALTH (2nd session only for 3
days)

Mini-course Description:
Students will be learning the essential of electronics in our health services –
- Instructor will give detail information and instruction on the first day
- The need of learning and understanding of the role of technology in
our health
- Career in the field

Mini-course Description:
The students will be learning the basic farming skills and technique in
plants.
a. Instructor will give more detail information at first day of
instruction
b. Learning to use small basic plot to plant your food for the day
c. The essential of growing your own food from the ground

Code # 100G – GAMIFICATION: Changing the World… One Game at
a Time (3rd period only for 3 days)

Mini-course Description:
Jane McGonigal, an author, game designer, and gamer, has said, “I've been
making games online now for 10 years, and my goal for the next decade is to
try to make it as easy to save the world in real life as it is to save the world
in online games. Now, I have a plan for this, and it entails convincing more
people, including all of you, to spend more time playing bigger and better
games.”
What McGonigal is referring to is gamification, the use of game thinking
and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving
problems. Gamification has been studied and applied in several domains,
such as to improve user engagement, physical exercise, return on
investment, data quality, timeliness, and learning.
This mini-course will engage students in both the study and application of
gamification. To that end, by end of the course, students will:
• Define gamification;
• Study the cognitive science and behavioral research of gamification;
• Explain how playing games can enhance learning and solve world
problems;
• Play games to make their lives better and their world a better place.
Requirement:
• Gaming platform(s) such as a PC, tablet, or console.

• The students will learn how to make Holy Rosary using beads.

Mini-course Description:
Musicians and wannabe musicians, unite! If you’re fairly new to the UKE,
GUITAR or BASS, join for some basic lessons. If you kind of know what
you’re doing to meet other musicians, learn new songs, form a band or hone
your American Idol audition song. DJs need not apply.
Requirement:
- Bring your musical instrument
- An open mind
- Open up to 30 students

Mini-course Description:
In the first hour of every session there will be a short video about famous
stories in the Bible. After watching the video the students will be asked to
write a reflection about it. Every participant shall share his or her reflection
about the story. Once everyone has shard his or her reflection I will then
share mine too.
With the remaining time there will be a Bible trivia. The participants shall be
divided into two groups, and the most group with the highest points wins the
game and get a prize from the facilitator.
Requirement:
- Bible
- Filler papers, pen or pencil, and a whistle

Mini-course Description:
In this mini-course we will be using Just BASIC - a programming language
for the Windows operating system. It is completely free and it is suitable for
creating all kinds of applications for business, industry, education and
entertainment. After taking this course, you may be ready to create your
own applications.

• Laptop (with charger)

Mini-course Description:
Ms. Yenrudee Inluphet, an experienced and talented Knitter from the
Kingdom of Thailand, will be teaching beginning techniques of Knitting.

Mini-course Description:
This course will teach various strategies useful to winning at musical chairs
– including the “Fake Sit Down”, efficient and quick sit-downs, and eyechair coordination.

SOCCER 101.

Forming a group singing in harmony accompanied by musical instruments.
Meant for Students who: (1) Can carry a tune; (2) Not necessarily a note
reader; (3) fantastic vocal range preferred; (4) instrumentalist preferred (5)

CORPORATION (3rd session only for 3 days)
Teacher: Mr. John Blanco & Guest Speaker @ A201
Mini-course Description:
The students will learn how to take a business idea and go through the
necessary steps of registering their business with the Registrar of
Corporation, Zoning Board, and the Business License Office.
Requirement:
Students are required to bring the following:
• A business idea
• A business name
• List of Owners/Shareholders who will be a part of the business
Required class size: 15-25 students per session
