Lookout 16 May 2015

16 MAY 2015
Hello Rotarians and welcome to a somewhat abbreviated
version of the Lookout for this week (due to lack of time on
the part of the editor!).
Over the past week, we have had three Bunnings BBQs (the
Mothers’ Day Family Night, a night for the staff catered by
Graeme and Ken and our regular Saturday BBQ).
Thank you to members who have volunteered to collect
donations for the Salvos outside Coles at Garden City. The
roster is:
Monday 25 May
9-12 Ray Brand, Bob Behan
12-3 Peter McEwen
Tuesday 26 May
12-3 Jean and Bruce Buckmaster
Friday 29 May
3-5 Jim Donohue
Saturday 30 May
3-5 Tony South
Sunday 31 May
9-12 Sue Walker
12-3 Bob Atherton
Monday 1 June
12-3 Julie and Lucy Anthony
Wednesday 3 June
12-3 Jean and Bruce Buckmaster
Friday 5 June

As soon as we hear more about the precise location of the
stall, information will be distributed.
Message from John Mulraney, RC Beenleigh:. IF
YOU ARE AVAILABLE TO HELP PLEASE CONTACT
PRESIDENT JIM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE:
Rotary has been given the opportunity by Logan
City Council to showcase Shelterbox at the next
Eats and Beats on the 29th May at the Logan Hyperdome Shopping Complex. The previous Eats
and Beats at the same location in April attracted
in excess of 10,000 people.
What are we seeking – Rotary involvement from
our neighbouring clubs. A Shelterbox representative will be present from 3.45pm to the
close of 9.30pm to make sure it is erected
properly and dismantled. The Rotary Club of
Beenleigh will field the set up and the first shift
until 6.00pm; if we could say Loganholme fill in
for a few hours followed by Logan and Mt Gravatt that would be fantastic – Rotary Shirts naturally and advertising material. The rotary Club of
Beenleigh has a second function on this evening
hence the set up etc. (say 3-4 member s from
each club would provide the opportunity for
those present to look around the function also or
even talk to potential members re the nights we
meet on).
We could have a donation tin where we might
raise enough for Shelterbox or two on the evening.
Jim needs to advise of our involvement before
the 22nd May.
What a great opportunity to showcase Rotary,
help those in the Bush and hopefully a family or
two in Nepal or somewhere else in the world.
