Panel Discussion
The world of television is not what it used to be. Things
are changing rapidly and it’s important for the professional advisor to be aware of these changes to best serve their
television-based clients. In this session, a mixture of traditional and new media business leaders will offer valuable
insights into the changing media landscape, the decline of
linear television ratings and the financial impact of new
on-demand platforms on traditional television business
models.

Speakers
Moderator: Beth Roberts, EVP, Business Operations, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. Ms. Roberts is responsible for
all business and legal affairs and negotiations for the cable
entertainment portfolio of ten entertainment networks and two
production studios. Ms. Roberts sits on the MPTF Professional
Advisory Council. She received her law degree at Boston
University School of Law.
Panelist: Ira Kurgan, Chief of Network Business Operations,
RBC & Fox Digital. Mr. Kurgan has been with FOX for 18
years and is responsible for all business operations. Mr. Kurgan
also worked three years for Yahoo! Network Division as Chief
Business Officer. Mr. Kurgan received his J.D. degree from the
UCLA School of Law.
Panelist: Sandra Stern, COO, Lionsgate Television, is responsible for the business, legal, administrative and operational
aspects of the division and explores innovative production, distribution and digital media strategies for Lionsgate’s growth
trajectory, taking in nearly a half billion dollars last year. She
is a graduate of UCLA School of Law.
Panelist: Conrad Riggs, Amazon Studios, Head of Television
