We will meet in the gym at the end of 4th hour and continue through ER. We will have High School staff speaking about Chromes Books and summer school opportunities including Freshmen Focus which is the 9th grade transition class. We will also take a class of 2019 picture to use for our graduation ceremony. Summer School booklets are in the office. Please stop down if you want a copy. All registration will be done on line. If you need help we are offering a summer school sign up event on April 30th and May 5th in the IMC 4-6pm. 6-7th graders that would like to help out with the summer school 6th grade transition class called Making Connections. Please see Mrs. McCann for a sign-up sheet. We are currently looking for approximately 8 students. Congratulations to students that have made the academic honor roll for 3rd quarter. Good Luck to our Tennis and Track and Field teams this week! Reminder to turn in your Red Robin Rewards for the incentive trip raffle. We will pick 2 winners from each grade level for each trip. This will take place on Friday, May 1st. Student Dress Code: Students at Antigo Middle/High School are expected to dress in a manner that is most appropriate for a positive learning environment. The following guidelines are intended to be of assistance to students and parents in determining suitable and appropriate forms of dress and grooming for school attendance. The major responsibility for decisions made in this area rests with the parents and students per Wisconsin Statute 120.13(1)(a). . Clothing Requirements: · Dresses and skirts must extend closer to the knee than the hip. · Shorts must have a 4 inch or longer inseam. · Shirt/tops must cover all bra straps, midriff area, and have no visible cleavage. · Pants must be worn with undergarments covered. · Clothing items that disrupt or threaten to disrupt the learning of others are prohibited. Students are prohibited from wearing any clothing or jewelry that contains pictures and/or writing referring to alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, sexual references, profanity, promotion of gambling, and/or gangs including writing or pictures on clothing with double meanings. Clothing that defames, insults, threatens or harasses any racial or cultural groups or individuals are prohibited. Springbrook Clean-up (4th Avenue Dam Trail Head) Come join your community in an effort to clean-up the area surrounding Springbrook. A FREE lunch will be provided at approximately 12:00pm for all participants. LOCATION: Meet at the 4th Avenue Dam Trail Head (located off of 4th Avenue; behind the County Store and Lakeside Grocery & Pharmacy). DATE: Monday, May 4, 2015 (it's a no school day!) TIME: The Clean-up will take place from 10am-12pm. WHAT TO BRING: We will provide gloves, trash bags, and a limited supply of trash pickers. Please dress in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Mud boots or waterproof boots are recommended. If you own a boat you may help by picking trash out of the lake basins (the boat may not have an engine which creates a wake). End of Year Incentive Trips Permission slips are available in the office for the incentive trips on June 3rd. All permission slips are due on or before May 8th. All forms must be returned to the office. No late slips will be accepted due to the need to get bussing ordered and notify businesses of numbers coming for the day. There are four choices available for students to pick from. Mt. Olympus indoor and outdoor waterpark and activities in the Wisconsin Dells. Cost is $33.00 and includes transportation, lunch (hot dog, chips, and soda), and admission to park. Students will leave at 8:00 a.m. sharp and will return at 7:00 p.m. and will need a ride home from the middle school. Fishing at Post Lake Dam will be available to the first 15 students that return their permission slip and money. Students will be going in private staff vehicles and will leave at 8:00 a.m. and return by the end of the school day. Cost is $5.00 and bait is included. Students have the choice of bringing their own lunch or have a school lunch packed. Golf at Bass Lake includes golf lesson, lunch, and students will have a chance to golf a few holes (depending on time will depend on how many holes). Students will be going in private staff vehicles. Cost at this time is $15 and students will return by the end of the school day. Lake Park and/or Movie Students will be walking to Lake Park and will have different activities to choose from including sidewalk art, tie dying (must bring own shirt), roller blading and skateboarding (bring own equipment), walking trail, kickball, and fishing (must bring equipment). This activity is free if the student stays all day and does not go to the movie. Students that wish to go to a movie at the Palace Theater in the afternoon may do so for a cost of $6.00 which includes a small popcorn and drink. Movie is yet to be determined. Students will be walking from Lake Park to the movie. Students will have a choice of bringing their own lunch or having a school lunch provided. A small amount of concessions for a minimal fee will be provided in the afternoon at Lake Park for students that are not going to the movie. Hope to see you there! On Thursday, May 7th, the Langlade County UW-Extension is partnering with the after school program to offer an eParenting workshop. The workshop is from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the IMC and includes a light dinner. Registration is required for planning purposes and child care (ages 4 & up) is available upon request. Flyers are located in the middle school office. We are having a Family Connections program on Thursday, May 14th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the IMC. We will have a light dinner and several “make and take” activities available for you and your family to enjoy. Please make plans to join us for a relaxing and fun evening. On Tuesday, May 19th we are excited to offer an informative and entertaining program on preventing summer learning loss. This event will include books, games, and other resources to help combat the “summer slide”. The last day of before and after-school program will be Friday, May 22nd.
