Digestive System Comic Strip Assignment Instructions: In a comic strip, you will describe the entire journey of a food item (your choice) from the time it enters the mouth to its removal from the body through excretion. I encourage you to be creative, but make sure you follow the assignment guidelines carefully. BEFORE you start, you need to make sure you know what all of the terms below mean, and how they process and digest the food that you consume. • • • • • • You should include all of the processes within your body that would help digest the food You may use the plain white paper up front to design your template. The comic can be either in color or black and white You can use any of the resources that you have to help you, including the internet. Look at the rubric below to see how you will be evaluated. Aim for a level 5 on all categories. The comic must have the following elements: □ Comic must have a title. □ Comic needs to be a minimum of 6 squares. □ Your comic book needs to include drawings as well as text □ The journey must go through the following organs: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum. □ You must use (and underline or highlight in your comic strip) each word in the chart below at least once, and in the correct context.
