Mt. Baker Scholarship Foundation Application Page 1 of 6 MOUNT BAKER SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION A Dollars for Scholars Organization This foundation was formed in the spring of 1994, for the purpose of establishing permanent endowments to generate scholarship funds for Mount Baker High School graduates. Recipients of scholarships from these funds are encouraged to contribute to MBSF when they become financially capable so that others may also receive benefits to continue their education. When you apply for a scholarship by filling out the general MBSF application form, you will be considered for a variety of scholarships for technical/community or 4 year colleges/universities. Some scholarships are awarded based on merit; some are based on financial need. Others specify that you have an interest/passion in a particular field. Scholarship descriptions are available in the High School Career Center and on the MBSF website (http://mtbakerscholarship.org). The number and amount of scholarships to be given is determined on an annual basis. If you’ve received a full ride scholarship or other extensive scholarship(s), the MBSF may opt not to award you scholarship funds. Your task is to prepare the best application you can. The application is in a “PDF writable” format that allows you to type in your answers. If you need help, contact your counselor, the Career Center counselor, Sandi Madison, or one of the MBSF board members. Submit completed applications to the Mount Baker Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 875, Deming, WA 98244 POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 2015. To receive scholarships applicants must: • Be currently enrolled as a senior at Mt. Baker High School. • Plan to attend a technical, community or 4 year university in the Fall of 2015. • Submit a complete MBSF scholarship application by April 15, 2015. Be sure to add your current classes on your transcripts as well. *NOTE: For consideration for the George and Tena Giarde Scholarship, please include two letters of recommendation from a pastor, youth leader, counselor, or other appropriate adult along with a completed MBSF application. To apply for the Loren and Muriel Monsen Scholarship, submit a letter that summarizes how you have fulfilled the requirements described in the scholarship description in addition to completing the general MBSF scholarship application.
