Next meeting May 4, 7 PM, at Trautmans a. Tree City efforts – plan to plant a tree for every Toledoan in 5 year timespan. David Longacre is helping with contacts. We are especially encouraging faith groups to plant food-bearing trees and shrubs. We will create a resource page to raise awareness. b. April 18 weekend events in support of unity and compassion – http://multifaithcouncil.org/pages/planpositive41815.pdf “If a small group of hatemongers marches in a city that ignores them, do they make a sound? – No!" Support the positive! c. Discussion of support for Scoutreach a non-profit which support Boy Scout initiatives to at-risk inner city youth. Board members were sent information in an earlier email. I believe the speaker will be inspiring. g. Photo Contest. Someone needs to pick up the prints of finalists from ProMedica and put them on our easels [from Emmett]. h. Mugs have been ordered. Education Program – Update Hafidha Saadiqah interested in an Institute 5. The Board of Family Promise is in need of your assistance. No new families will be served by the program until they have commitment from 13 host churches and 13 support churches, thus limiting each church's commitment to one week per quarter. If you have connections in another house of worship that you think may be willing to help in this important program for homeless families, please provide contact information to Family Promise at 419-517-5544.
