MURROONA GARDENS broadcaster April 2015 We start this months Broadcaster by acknowledging the wonderful efforts by AIN Karin Elfors Rubin in decorating the Hostel respite room ,making cushions for the Hostel lounge and painting and hanging several wonderful paintings throughout the facility. On behalf of the residents, we would like to pass on our sincere congratulations and thanks to Karin for her efforts. Photos of Karin’s work are on page 7 of the Broadcaster. At the March meeting, the Board gave approval for our contracted planners Paynter Dixon to proceed to Development Application and Approval stage for a new 32 bed Nursing Home to be located at the rear of Wattle and Banksia wings This is exciting news for current and future residents of our facility. This process is expected to take up to four months to complete. Representatives of Whitsunday Council Health Department were on site in March to carry out an audit of our kitchen. There were no adverse findings in the audit and council staff were glowing in their praise of the high standard achieved. Congratulations to Donna, Jo and all of the dedicated catering staff. You should be very proud of your achievement. Resident activities completed in March were celebrating International Women’s day, St Patrick’s day , World poetry day, World Harmony day , World Forestry day, Greek Independence day and a ladies pamper day . The residents enjoyed a delightful Greek meal for lunch on 25th March which was prepared by our catering staff. Kim and I take this opportunity to wish all the residents, their families, staff and tenants a happy and safe Easter. Until next time, Greg and I will continue to strive to make Murroona Gardens a centre of excellence for our community. He bends over, picks up the frog and puts it in his pocket. The frog speaks up again and says, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week." The engineer takes the frog out of his pocket, smiles at it and returns it to the pocket. The frog then cries out, "If you kiss me and turn me back, I'll do whatever you say!" Again the engineer takes the frog out, smiles at it and puts it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asks, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, I'll stay with you for a month and do whatever you say. What more do you want?" The engineer says, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that's cool!" 10 FUNNY STUFF April 2015 FORGET ABOUT IT After an elderly couple starts getting forgetful, they visit their doctor. Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes. When they get home, the wife says, "Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream? And maybe write that down so you won't forget?" "Nonsense," says the husband. "I can remember a dish of ice cream." "Well, I'd also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it," the wife replies. "My memory's not all that bad," says the husband. "No problem -- a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. I don't need to write it down." He goes into the kitchen, and his wife hears pots and pans banging. The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs. She looks at the plate and asks, "Hey, where's the toast I asked for?" 11 PUZZLES April 2015 Sudoku # 13 (Easy) See how you went on last month’s Sudoku # 12. 12 PUZZLES CONT...
