boys? Then “Divas Do Dirty” is the perfect
summer day camp for you. Come and
experience the messy fun boys like to
have all week long. We will have camping,
fishing, hiking, building projects, special
guests and lots of messy activities that
are sure to have you leaving dirty every
day. We plan on ending our week with a
field trip that screams fun, fun, fun!
Campers will need to dress in old clothes
daily and also pack a lunch and bring a

Spend a riveting day swinging through the trees on zip lines set within a
gorgeous pine forest, overlooking North Park’s 63 acre lake. More than just
a canopy tour, the course is made up of numerous rope ladders, 41 exciting
crossings to include the Double Stirrups, Bosun’s Chair, Flying Carpet and
Spider’s Web, 2 Tarzan swings and 5 zip lines. Campers must bring a lunch
and drinks and wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. More

Explore Laurel Caverns through an Upper Caving tour, getting wet and dirty
as you discover the beautiful underground caves. A change of clothes,
closed-toe shoes and two sources of light are required. Dress warm! Cave
temperatures ae 52 degrees. A signed waiver is required, available on the
Laurel Caverns website http://www.laurelcavernspark.com/spelunkingcaving/
After the upper caving tour, enjoy a round of Kavernputt (mini-golf!) in the
largest simulated cave in the world. Campers must bring a lunch and plenty
to drink. A souvenir shop is available but bringing a small amount of
spending money is optional. Parents and guardians are welcome and
encouraged to join us on the adventures! Volunteers ages 15 and older are
needed.

Students will find a welcoming and comfortable environment to explore their passion, or curiosity,
for the performing arts. Daily lessons are integrated with theatre games, fun activities, and

solving, management techniques and how to teach your dog alternate

Farmers’ Market
The lazy, hazy days of summer will bring fresh, new sights, sounds and
smells this year as the 2nd annual Murrysville Farmers’ Market, hosted by
the Murrysville Recreation Department, takes place on Thursdays from
3:00-7:00 p.m. weekly June 4 through September 24 at the Murrysville
Volunteer Fire Department field located at the intersection of Sardis Road
and Logan Ferry Road. The Market will feature local growers of fresh
produce, home baked goods, pantry items, fresh meats and jerky, dairy
products, fresh flowers and plants, honey, herbs, crafts and more!
Proceeds from the Market will benefit the Murrysville Volunteer Fire
Department and Murrysville Community Day. Any vendors wishing to
participate in the Market and anyone who would like more information

Our Kids’ Club Farmhouse Kids, sponsored by First Commonwealth Bank, will be a fun

Celebrate our great outdoors at our Youth and Family Outdoor Expo at Townsend Park on Saturday,
September 19 from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., where everyone can learn how to fish or sharpen their
angling skills on the new docks at Remaley pond and enjoy a variety of fun, outdoor, educational,
hands-on activities throughout the park. Visit with the PA Game Commission, Saltsburg River and
Trail, the 4-H Club, try shooting archery and air rifles, learn about geocaching, mountain biking,
camping, see animal demonstrations and more! Exhibitors that would like to participate can call

COMMUNITY CAMPOUT
It is said that those who play together stay together, so join the Murrysville Recreation Department
for a Community Campout at Townsend Park September 19 at 5:00 p.m. until September 20 at

camping equipment and a $10.00 registration fee per tent site and $5.00 fee per person, which
includes dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. The campout will feature lots of fun

PA HERO WALK
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2015
The Murrysville Recreation Department will be teaming up with
the PA Hero Walk to host the 3rd Annual Hometown Hero Walk
right here in Murrysville. Proceeds from the walk will benefit
Pennsylvania wounded and disabled veterans and their families.
The Walk for all ages will begin at the Franklin Regional School
District campus and end at Murrysville Community Park’s
Veterans’ Memorial for a short program followed by a picnic for
all participants. Individual and team walkers are needed for the
walk, which is the main fundraiser for the event. For more

Chili Oktoberfest
October 17, 2015
Sponsored by the Murrysville Export Rotary Club and in cooperation with
the Recreation Department, the Eighth Annual Chili Oktoberfest will be
held on Saturday, October 17 from noon until 6 p.m. at the Murrysville
Volunteer Fire Company’s picnic pavilion at 3235 Sardis Rd. Every
participant gets to be a judge and vote for his/her favorite chili. With 20
types of both hot and mild chili on hand, the Chili Oktoberfest is the
hottest event in town! 10 local restaurants also enter the cookoff to
compete for the title of “Best Chili in Murrysville!” Prizes are awarded for
the favorite chili in each category and family friendly fall-time games are
available. All proceeds benefit the Rotary Polio Foundation and the
Miracle Complex at Murrysville Community Park. Tickets are $10.00 each.
