Position Title: Volunteer Associate: 30 Hours Biweekly

Position Summary
The Volunteer Associate is a key point of contact for volunteer inquiries. Working
closely with the Volunteer Coordinator, the Volunteer Associate will support the longterm health of the volunteer program by proving essential support such as data entry,
responding to enquires, arranging tours, assisting with volunteer recruitment the
creation of volunteer resources, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities











Assisting the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and screen potential volunteers
Responding to general inquiries about volunteering and arranging appointments
Facilitating volunteer paper work and ensuring producers are followed
Assisting with the creation of a volunteer handbook
Entering volunteer contact information in our data base and filing papers
Entering volunteer job descriptions into our data base
Producing reports from our data base as needed
Participate with annual volunteer appreciation event planning
Attending and participating in all relevant staff/team meetings and training
opportunities as available
Providing relief for reception as required
Other duties as required
Qualifications






Experience working with volunteers
High School Diploma
Computer Skills: working knowledge of Microsoft office; competency in data
collection.
Minimum 3 years related experience working in a nonprofit setting.
Required – Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
Asset – Valid Driver’s license

This position is with The Mustard Seed Street Church and requires a person who
has made a Christian commitment.
Must be willing to sign the staff code of conduct
This position reports to: Volunteer Coordinator
Permanent- part-time: flexible 30 hours bi- weekly
Must read and agree to following The Mustard Seed policies which are a living,
changing document
The Mustard Seed follows BC Employment Standards Law for Terminations
Must provide an acceptable criminal record check, including the level of
clearance required to work with vulnerable people
