Hosting Organization: Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (2011-­‐FR-­‐128) Campus Pau: International relations Office (1 placement) Activities of the volunteer: The International Relations Office’ mission is to inform students wishing to study abroad and to guide foreign students at the UPPA. The volunteer will accompany international students in the beginning of the academic year (September and March for Erasmus students) and help them around during the rest of their stay. He/she will help them for the inscriptions to IEFE (French as a foreign language courses) and all practical arrangements of the campus, being the link between the international students and the campus’ administrative services. The volunteer will be able to learn how to implement communication tools facilitating the information on the students’ life (social networks, multimedia tools) and participate in the organisation of information seminars, informing the students about students exchange programs (within the frame of Erasmus+). His/her main tasks will be related to the support of the ESN network by the organisation of activities: linguistic cafés, excursions, theme evenings,... Timetable: The volunteers' timetable will correspond to the opening hours of the services (9:00-­‐12:00 – 14:00-­‐17:00 from Monday to Friday), but the schedule can be adapted if events take place in the evening. Accommodation and food: The volunteer will stay in a studio on the University Campus. Campus Pau: Maison de l’Etudiant – Cultural Service (1 placement) Activities of the volunteer: The Student’s house is a common convivial place for the academic community and all students. It is also a place where students can find all information and contacts related to the academic, cultural and sporting life of the campus of Pau, the city and the region. In the Student’s house the volunteer will participate in the cultural activities implemented by the Cultural Service. This service offers to all public and throughout the academic year a rich and varied program of events: concerts, live shows (theatre, dance, cirque…). The volunteer will be the "reporter" of such events by providing details on the Cultural Service web pages. He/she will have the opportunity to help to create means of communication and participate in campaigns to put up posters. His/her role may be to coordinate the volunteer teams during the cultural events and to help around the international artists. The Cultural Service’s second mission is to accompany the student associations to realise their projects, in all areas (art, culture, environment, sciences, international solidarity...). The volunteer will help to improve the communication on the events organised by various student associations and participate in their promotion. Hosting Organization: Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (2012-­‐FR-­‐139) Campus Bayonne: Maison de l’Etudiant – Cultural Service Microscope (1 placement) Activities of the volunteer: The volunteer will participate in the activities of the UPPA Cultural Service at the Basque coast office within the student’s house in Bayonne. The aim of the programming project of this service is to create encounters between international artists and Basque coast inhabitants, being students or not. The link with the Cultural Service of the UPPA in Pau and its network, developed since 2005, allows the Bayonne office to include the Basque coast on European tours of numerous interesting artists. The 'Microscope', name given to the Cultural Service of the Basque Coast, organises about 15 events per season. Its role is also to give professional support to students and teachers cultural projects and to be a service tool for University community projects with cultural actors of the region. The volunteer will have the opportunity to acquire technical skills and the know-­‐how of communication. He/she will participate in the design, the logistics and the promotion of several events (contemporary music and live performances) and become familiar with the accompaniment of projects and the techniques of performing arts. Timetable: The volunteers' timetable will correspond to the opening hours of the services (9:00-­‐12:00 – 14:00-­‐17:00 from Monday to Friday), but schedules can be shifted according to events taking place in the evenings or during weekends.
