ABOUT
Midwest Young Artists
SUMMER
MUSIC
FESTIVAL
Midwest Young Artists' nationally recognized Chicago Chamber Music Workshop offers students an unparalleled musical experience in a fun and supportive environment. An outstanding faculty, nurturing
staff, and beautiful setting will inspire students to explore new ideas, discover new talents, and learn
skills that will stay with them forever.
Classes and rehearsals are held at the historic MYA Center in Fort Sheridan at 878 Lyster Road, Highwood, IL. Non-residential students arrive each morning and depart in the evening, and Residential students stay in air-conditioned dormitories on the beautiful Lake Forest College campus with one roommate and receive shuttle service to and from activities each day.
While at the Chicago Chamber Music Workshop, students will rehearse in a chamber group both with a
faculty member and independently. To create an intensive experience, groups rotate each week after
performing on Saturday Chamber Music Soirees held at the MYA Center. Students will also attend Music
Theory, Sonata, and Music History Classes and participate in MYA’s Evening Orchestra*—which is included in the tuition!
*Please note that MYA’s Evening Orchestra meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 23 to July
18—beginning before CCMW. Students are encouraged to attend all rehearsals, please check out the
Evening Orchestra page at www.mya.org/summer for details.
