Please note that the University does not conduct tours, nor does it act as an agent for guests interested in
tours. The Alumni Association acts as a facilitator with tour operators, with whom tour participants make
arrangements for completing travel. We are pleased to act as a liaison with tour operators should you have
any questions or concerns that may arise before, during, or after your tour. The Alumni Association encourages you to familiarize yourself thoroughly with the tour operator's cancellation and refund policies,

MOBILITY AND FITNESS TO TRAVEL-The right is retained to decline to accept or to retain any person as
a member of this trip who, in the opinion of AHI Travel is unfit for travel or whose physical or mental condition may constitute a danger to themselves or to others on the trip, subject only to the requirement that
the portion of the total amount paid which corresponds to the unused services and accommodations be refunded. Passengers requiring special assistance, including without limitation those who permanently or periodically use a wheelchair, must be accompanied by someone who is fit and able to assist them, and who
will be totally responsible for providing all required assistance.
AIR TRANSPORTATION-The price of air transportation offered by AHI Travel is based on Advance Purchase Excursion fares. After tickets are issued, penalties up to 100% of the ticket price may be levied. If
connecting flights are requested, special promotional fares may be used, in which case penalties of as
much as 100% may be assessed by the airlines if reservations are changed or canceled after ticketing. After
departure, if the reservations are changed, you will be charged the higher, all year Economy class fare.
VARIATIONS TO THE GROUP ITINERARY MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. Passengers who choose to make their own airline reservations independently will be wholly responsible for any airline fees or penalties incurred as a result of program cancellation and/or change in
travel dates, or airline schedule(s).
CANCELLATION-In addition to airline cancellation penalties, all cancellations for any reason whatsoever
will be subject to a $250 per person administrative fee. {Please note that you may choose, at the time of
cancellation, to apply the withheld administrative fee to a future AHI Travel program that will operate in the
current calendar year or year following.} Cancellation from 120 days to 76 days prior to departure will result
in forfeiture of 10% of the entire cost of the trip per person; 75-30 days, 50% of the trip cost per person;
cancellation from 29 days up to the time of departure will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the
trip. TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE. AN APPLICATION WILL BE SENT AFTER YOU RESERVE. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AHI International Corporation.
INSURANCE-Trip cancellation, health and accident insurance is available through the University of Notre
Dame, and may protect you against unforseen circumstances which cause you to interrupt or cancel your
trip.
BAGGAGE-Baggage restrictions vary according to the airline policy and the class of service flown. Details
will be provided with your pre-departure information. Baggage allowances are subject to change by the carrier without notice. Excess baggage charges for additional or oversized/overweight pieces are expensive
and not included in your trip price; plan your wardrobe accordingly. Transport of baggage and personal effects is at the owner's risk throughout the travel program.
AUTHORITY TO USE IMAGES AND AUDIO RECORDINGS - On occasion, AHI Travel obtains, from its
staff, or from trip participants, photographic or video images of passengers and trip activities. By participating in this travel program, you authorize AHI Travel, without providing compensation to you, or obtaining
additional approvals from you, to include photographic and video recordings of you, as well as voice recordings included with any videos, in AHI Travel's sales, marketing, advertising, publicity and/or training activities.
RESPONSIBILITY - AHI Travel and the Sponsoring Association do not own or operate any entity which provides goods or services for this program, and act only as agents for the independent suppliers of travel

Hosted by Professor Anthony K. Hyder ‘62. Tony received his B.S. in physics from
the University of Notre Dame in 1962 before starting a career in the Air Force.
While on active duty, he earned his master’s degree in space physics and his Ph.D.
in nuclear physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology. His Air Force duties
carried him to Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. After
leaving the Air Force, he joined the faculty at Auburn University, Alabama. In 1991,
he returned to Notre Dame as the associate vice president for graduate studies and research.
He is currently a professor of physics at Notre Dame, where he serves as an associate chair in
the department in addition to being a member of the nuclear astrophysics research group. Tony
has hosted several alumni trips, including ones to Ireland, Russia, Austria, the Panama Canal,
Italy, France, the Mediterranean coast and Alaska.

Excursion: Edinburgh. En route to the
Scottish capital, visit the site of the Battle of
Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce
defeated the English to gain Scotland’s
independence in 1314. One of Europe’s most
distinguished cities, Edinburgh fostered the
Set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle,
the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has
thrilled more than 12 million people since
1950, when it was first performed. Picture it:
as twilight settles over Edinburgh Castle,
footlights illuminate the sweeping Esplanade.
Restless with anticipation, all eyes are fixed
on the castle’s massive oak gates. Then, a
lone voice, the Voice of the Castle, calls out to
welcome the nations. Amid patriotic cheers,
visitors from all over the world reach out in
friendship and shared goodwill. A palpable
hush falls over the crowd as the castle gates
sweep open. The night sky swells with the
heart-stirring sounds of pipes and drums.
What follows is a dazzling performance, a
Scottish and international kaleidoscope of

18th-century Scottish Enlightenment. Famous
for its architecture, this world-class capital
has splendid medieval structures in historic
Old Town and Georgian buildings in the New
Town. Journey along the Royal Mile in Old

of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the
Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.

drive to St. Andrews, the birthplace of golf. En
route, see the National Wallace Monument,

Wallace, famous for leading the resistance
during the Scottish Wars of Independence.
Enjoy an orientation tour of St. Andrews.
Stop at the Old Course, where golf was first
played 600 years ago. St. Andrews is also
home to the highly regarded University of
St. Andrews, Scotland’s oldest university and
the third-oldest university in Britain. See
St. Andrews Cathedral and the ruins of a
spectacular castle first fortified during the
1100s. From 1200, the castle served as the
main residence of bishops and archbishops
of St. Andrews, the administrative center of
the Scottish Church and a formidable
prison.

MOBILITY AND FITNESS TO TRAVEL-The right is retained to decline to accept or to retain any person as
a member of this trip who, in the opinion of AHI Travel is unfit for travel or whose physical or mental condition may constitute a danger to themselves or to others on the trip, subject only to the requirement that
the portion of the total amount paid which corresponds to the unused services and accommodations be refunded. Passengers requiring special assistance, including without limitation those who permanently or periodically use a wheelchair, must be accompanied by someone who is fit and able to assist them, and who
will be totally responsible for providing all required assistance.
AIR TRANSPORTATION-The price of air transportation offered by AHI Travel is based on Advance Purchase Excursion fares. After tickets are issued, penalties up to 100% of the ticket price may be levied. If
connecting flights are requested, special promotional fares may be used, in which case penalties of as
much as 100% may be assessed by the airlines if reservations are changed or canceled after ticketing. After
departure, if the reservations are changed, you will be charged the higher, all year Economy class fare.
VARIATIONS TO THE GROUP ITINERARY MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. Passengers who choose to make their own airline reservations independently will be wholly responsible for any airline fees or penalties incurred as a result of program cancellation and/or change in
travel dates, or airline schedule(s).
CANCELLATION-In addition to airline cancellation penalties, all cancellations for any reason whatsoever
will be subject to a $250 per person administrative fee. {Please note that you may choose, at the time of
cancellation, to apply the withheld administrative fee to a future AHI Travel program that will operate in the
current calendar year or year following.} Cancellation from 120 days to 76 days prior to departure will result
in forfeiture of 10% of the entire cost of the trip per person; 75-30 days, 50% of the trip cost per person;
cancellation from 29 days up to the time of departure will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the
trip. TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE. AN APPLICATION WILL BE SENT AFTER YOU RESERVE. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AHI International Corporation.
INSURANCE-Trip cancellation, health and accident insurance is available through the University of Notre
Dame, and may protect you against unforseen circumstances which cause you to interrupt or cancel your
trip.
BAGGAGE-Baggage restrictions vary according to the airline policy and the class of service flown. Details
will be provided with your pre-departure information. Baggage allowances are subject to change by the carrier without notice. Excess baggage charges for additional or oversized/overweight pieces are expensive
and not included in your trip price; plan your wardrobe accordingly. Transport of baggage and personal effects is at the owner's risk throughout the travel program.
AUTHORITY TO USE IMAGES AND AUDIO RECORDINGS - On occasion, AHI Travel obtains, from its
staff, or from trip participants, photographic or video images of passengers and trip activities. By participating in this travel program, you authorize AHI Travel, without providing compensation to you, or obtaining
additional approvals from you, to include photographic and video recordings of you, as well as voice recordings included with any videos, in AHI Travel's sales, marketing, advertising, publicity and/or training activities.

Hosted by Professor Anthony K. Hyder ‘62. Tony received his B.S. in physics from
the University of Notre Dame in 1962 before starting a career in the Air Force.
While on active duty, he earned his master’s degree in space physics and his Ph.D.
in nuclear physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology. His Air Force duties
carried him to Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. After
leaving the Air Force, he joined the faculty at Auburn University, Alabama. In 1991,
he returned to Notre Dame as the associate vice president for graduate studies and research.
He is currently a professor of physics at Notre Dame, where he serves as an associate chair in
the department in addition to being a member of the nuclear astrophysics research group. Tony
has hosted several alumni trips, including ones to Ireland, Russia, Austria, the Panama Canal,
Italy, France, the Mediterranean coast and Alaska.

Excursion: Edinburgh. En route to the
Scottish capital, visit the site of the Battle of
Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce
defeated the English to gain Scotland’s
independence in 1314. One of Europe’s most
distinguished cities, Edinburgh fostered the
Set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle,
the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has
thrilled more than 12 million people since
1950, when it was first performed. Picture it:
as twilight settles over Edinburgh Castle,
footlights illuminate the sweeping Esplanade.
Restless with anticipation, all eyes are fixed
on the castle’s massive oak gates. Then, a
lone voice, the Voice of the Castle, calls out to
welcome the nations. Amid patriotic cheers,
visitors from all over the world reach out in

hush falls over the crowd as the castle gates

Stop at the Old Course, where golf was first
played 600 years ago. St. Andrews is also
home to the highly regarded University of
St. Andrews, Scotland’s oldest university and
the third-oldest university in Britain. See
St. Andrews Cathedral and the ruins of a
spectacular castle first fortified during the
1100s. From 1200, the castle served as the
main residence of bishops and archbishops
of St. Andrews, the administrative center of
the Scottish Church and a formidable
prison.

Excursion: Edinburgh. En route to the
Scottish capital, visit the site of the Battle of
Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce
defeated the English to gain Scotland’s
independence in 1314. One of Europe’s most
distinguished cities, Edinburgh fostered the
Set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle,
the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has
thrilled more than 12 million people since
1950, when it was first performed. Picture it:
as twilight settles over Edinburgh Castle,
footlights illuminate the sweeping Esplanade.
Restless with anticipation, all eyes are fixed
on the castle’s massive oak gates. Then, a
lone voice, the Voice of the Castle, calls out to
welcome the nations. Amid patriotic cheers,
visitors from all over the world reach out in
friendship and shared goodwill. A palpable
hush falls over the crowd as the castle gates
sweep open. The night sky swells with the
heart-stirring sounds of pipes and drums.
What follows is a dazzling performance, a

Stop at the Old Course, where golf was first
played 600 years ago. St. Andrews is also
home to the highly regarded University of
St. Andrews, Scotland’s oldest university and
the third-oldest university in Britain. See
St. Andrews Cathedral and the ruins of a
spectacular castle first fortified during the
1100s. From 1200, the castle served as the
main residence of bishops and archbishops
of St. Andrews, the administrative center of
the Scottish Church and a formidable
prison.

MOBILITY AND FITNESS TO TRAVEL-The right is retained to decline to accept or to retain any person as

the portion of the total amount paid which corresponds to the unused services and accommodations be refunded. Passengers requiring special assistance, including without limitation those who permanently or periodically use a wheelchair, must be accompanied by someone who is fit and able to assist them, and who

AIR TRANSPORTATION-The price of air transportation offered by AHI Travel is based on Advance Purchase Excursion fares. After tickets are issued, penalties up to 100% of the ticket price may be levied. If
connecting flights are requested, special promotional fares may be used, in which case penalties of as
much as 100% may be assessed by the airlines if reservations are changed or canceled after ticketing. After
departure, if the reservations are changed, you will be charged the higher, all year Economy class fare.
VARIATIONS TO THE GROUP ITINERARY MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. Passengers who choose to make their own airline reservations independently will be wholly responsible for any airline fees or penalties incurred as a result of program cancellation and/or change in
travel dates, or airline schedule(s).
CANCELLATION-In addition to airline cancellation penalties, all cancellations for any reason whatsoever
will be subject to a $250 per person administrative fee. {Please note that you may choose, at the time of
cancellation, to apply the withheld administrative fee to a future AHI Travel program that will operate in the
current calendar year or year following.} Cancellation from 120 days to 76 days prior to departure will result
in forfeiture of 10% of the entire cost of the trip per person; 75-30 days, 50% of the trip cost per person;
cancellation from 29 days up to the time of departure will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the
trip. TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE. AN APPLICATION WILL BE SENT AFTER YOU RESERVE. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AHI International Corporation.
INSURANCE-Trip cancellation, health and accident insurance is available through the University of Notre
Dame, and may protect you against unforseen circumstances which cause you to interrupt or cancel your

BAGGAGE-Baggage restrictions vary according to the airline policy and the class of service flown. Details
will be provided with your pre-departure information. Baggage allowances are subject to change by the carrier without notice. Excess baggage charges for additional or oversized/overweight pieces are expensive

Hosted by Professor Anthony K. Hyder ‘62. Tony received his B.S. in physics from
the University of Notre Dame in 1962 before starting a career in the Air Force.
While on active duty, he earned his master’s degree in space physics and his Ph.D.
in nuclear physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology. His Air Force duties
carried him to Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. After
leaving the Air Force, he joined the faculty at Auburn University, Alabama. In 1991,
he returned to Notre Dame as the associate vice president for graduate studies and research.
He is currently a professor of physics at Notre Dame, where he serves as an associate chair in
the department in addition to being a member of the nuclear astrophysics research group. Tony
has hosted several alumni trips, including ones to Ireland, Russia, Austria, the Panama Canal,
Italy, France, the Mediterranean coast and Alaska.

tours. The Alumni Association acts as a facilitator with tour operators, with whom tour participants make
arrangements for completing travel. We are pleased to act as a liaison with tour operators should you have

MOBILITY AND FITNESS TO TRAVEL-The right is retained to decline to accept or to retain any person as
a member of this trip who, in the opinion of AHI Travel is unfit for travel or whose physical or mental condition may constitute a danger to themselves or to others on the trip, subject only to the requirement that
the portion of the total amount paid which corresponds to the unused services and accommodations be refunded. Passengers requiring special assistance, including without limitation those who permanently or periodically use a wheelchair, must be accompanied by someone who is fit and able to assist them, and who
will be totally responsible for providing all required assistance.
AIR TRANSPORTATION-The price of air transportation offered by AHI Travel is based on Advance Purchase Excursion fares. After tickets are issued, penalties up to 100% of the ticket price may be levied. If
connecting flights are requested, special promotional fares may be used, in which case penalties of as
much as 100% may be assessed by the airlines if reservations are changed or canceled after ticketing. After
departure, if the reservations are changed, you will be charged the higher, all year Economy class fare.
VARIATIONS TO THE GROUP ITINERARY MUST BE REQUESTED NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. Passengers who choose to make their own airline reservations independently will be wholly responsible for any airline fees or penalties incurred as a result of program cancellation and/or change in
travel dates, or airline schedule(s).
CANCELLATION-In addition to airline cancellation penalties, all cancellations for any reason whatsoever
will be subject to a $250 per person administrative fee. {Please note that you may choose, at the time of
cancellation, to apply the withheld administrative fee to a future AHI Travel program that will operate in the
current calendar year or year following.} Cancellation from 120 days to 76 days prior to departure will result
in forfeiture of 10% of the entire cost of the trip per person; 75-30 days, 50% of the trip cost per person;
cancellation from 29 days up to the time of departure will result in 100% forfeiture of the entire cost of the
trip. TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE. AN APPLICATION WILL BE SENT AFTER YOU RESERVE. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AHI International Corporation.
INSURANCE-Trip cancellation, health and accident insurance is available through the University of Notre
Dame, and may protect you against unforseen circumstances which cause you to interrupt or cancel your
trip.
BAGGAGE-Baggage restrictions vary according to the airline policy and the class of service flown. Details
will be provided with your pre-departure information. Baggage allowances are subject to change by the carrier without notice. Excess baggage charges for additional or oversized/overweight pieces are expensive
and not included in your trip price; plan your wardrobe accordingly. Transport of baggage and personal effects is at the owner's risk throughout the travel program.
AUTHORITY TO USE IMAGES AND AUDIO RECORDINGS - On occasion, AHI Travel obtains, from its
staff, or from trip participants, photographic or video images of passengers and trip activities. By participating in this travel program, you authorize AHI Travel, without providing compensation to you, or obtaining
additional approvals from you, to include photographic and video recordings of you, as well as voice recordings included with any videos, in AHI Travel's sales, marketing, advertising, publicity and/or training activities.
RESPONSIBILITY - AHI Travel and the Sponsoring Association do not own or operate any entity which provides goods or services for this program, and act only as agents for the independent suppliers of travel
conveyance, transport, accommodations or other services. All such persons or entities are independent
contractors. As a result, AHI Travel and the Sponsoring Association are not liable for any negligence or willful act of any such person or entity or any third person. In addition and without limitation, AHI Travel and

Hosted by Professor Anthony K. Hyder ‘62. Tony received his B.S. in physics from
the University of Notre Dame in 1962 before starting a career in the Air Force.
While on active duty, he earned his master’s degree in space physics and his Ph.D.
in nuclear physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology. His Air Force duties
carried him to Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Alabama, and Washington, D.C. After
leaving the Air Force, he joined the faculty at Auburn University, Alabama. In 1991,
he returned to Notre Dame as the associate vice president for graduate studies and research.
He is currently a professor of physics at Notre Dame, where he serves as an associate chair in
the department in addition to being a member of the nuclear astrophysics research group. Tony
has hosted several alumni trips, including ones to Ireland, Russia, Austria, the Panama Canal,
Italy, France, the Mediterranean coast and Alaska.
