Despite the lack of cooperation from mother nature, the Senior Junior Championship was still held at
Fairmount CC in Chatham, NJ with thirty­two competing teams. The 27 Hole Team Championship was
shortened to just 18 holes, with 9 holes of four ball stroke play and nine holes of pinehurst. Mark
Yannotta (Anchor Golf Center) & John McCarthy (Morris County GC) were able to fire a 5­under par, 67,
despite the rain. Their seven birdies and two bogies clipped Marty Vybihal (Apple Ridge CC) & Ken
Pridgen (Suneagles GC) by just one stroke. This will be the first time winning the event for McCarthy and
the second for Yannotta who won the back in 2004 with Rob Schaal.
