Dear Classified Displaced staff, If you were displaced from your current position, are returning from leave, or exercised the option transfer, the following information will be helpful to you in understanding the next steps in the staffing process. In Phase I, you must apply for a position. You may only apply for positions with your exact job title, exact work year calendar and FTE.. The Human Resources Department wants you to know that following Phase 1 offers, the remaining vacant positions for the next school year will be advertised from May 25-May 26. The positions will be advertised for your review, prior to attending the Job Fair on May 27th. To review the available positions beginning May 25th, go to www.seattleschools.org/careers in the Internal Opportunities section. You do not have to apply for these positions; they are listed for your information only. You are invited to attend the Job Fair on May 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to meet with Principals from schools with vacant positions. The Job Fair will be held at the John Stanford Center, Third Floor Commons and is open only to displaced staff. You may bring copies of your resume to and you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the positions and to share information about yourself. You will then be invited, in seniority order, to attend In-Person staffing on June 3rd to select a position in your approved job titles. Phase I for Elementary Ed, Creative Schools and Special Ed: 4/13-20 4/27-4/28 Certificated vacancies in Elementary Ed, and Special Ed are posted for internal Applicants only. Certificated offers made for all positions Phase I for all schools and Phase III for Creative Schools: 5/4 –5/11 5/19-5/20 5/25-5/26 Classified and Certificated positions advertised for internal applicants only. Classified and Certificated offers made for all positions. Remaining positions advertised for displaced only to review for Job Fair. Phase II Certificated and Classified Job Fair 5/27 Job Fair-Displaced staff meet with schools with vacancies. 504 displaced have priority for placement into suitable positions. Schools will turn in recommendations for Certificated displaced and offers will be made. Classified staff will utilize information from Job Fair to select positions in seniority order at In- Person Staffing on June 3. Job Fair offers made for Certificated staff. 5/28 6/ 3 Classified In-Person Staffing Displaced Classified staff select positions in seniority order. 6/1 – 6/5 Remaining displaced Certificated staff will be assigned to remaining positions by Education Directors, and HR staff. Phase III - Open hiring 6/8 Various dates - Classified and Certificated positions will be advertised in categories and job titles where no displaced or RIF remain unassigned.
