"Pirates of Winnebago".
Scouts will be sleeping in two-person platform tents on cots (provided). All meals will be served in a
communal dining hall. Dinner on Tuesday night will be cooked by the Troop at the campsite with a Dutch
Oven Dessert Competition. Special meal needs should be made known at the upcoming Mandatory Parents
Meeting or parents can call the WSR Dining Hall at 973-983-9075.
Coordinated by Mr. McNamara, new Scouts may participate in the Dan Beard program centered
around introductory Scouting skills. All Scouts may work on completing rank requirements.
Coordinated by Mr. Pietrucha, there will be a broad offering of Merit Badges, dependent on age level.
We are encouraging our Scouts to earn the Acorn, Green Bar Bill and Baden Powell Awards. The Trail to Eagle
(separate registration required) is available for Star and Life Scouts at least 13 years or older.
There will also be plenty of free time available for activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing,
hydrobiking, swimming, challenging outdoor personal experience (COPE), climbing, fishing on Miss Winnie,
crafts, pioneering skills, backwoods engineering, rifle, shotgun, archery, paintball, batting cage, skateboarding
half-pipe and camp-wide competitions.
All forms and new information will be distributed by email and will be posted on the "Summer Camp"
