LEARNING MAPS PROJECT
Both Miss Winnie and Mr Botha have been participating in a project with Auckland University with 25
students. The Learning Maps Project aims to:
·
support students, teachers and families to use their learning maps to actively change their learning
environments,
·
build an understanding of how using the student learning map enables students to take active
responsibility for their learning and make positive changes to their learning environments, and
·
build our understanding of teacher, school leader, parent and Whānau perspectives on how they
can best support students in modern-day learning.
On Tuesday we had our first ‘Learning Map’ session along with approximately 120 other students from
other schools and colleges. From the feedback I have received from staff, students and whanau is that
the workshop was very successful and we look forward to hearing more as the project progresses.
INTER SCHOOL SOCCER TOURNAMENT
This week we had two teams represent Naenae Intermediate at the Intermediate Inter school Soccer

played 4 games and lost 1 and drew the other 3. Thank you to Mr Botha for coaching and organising
both teams.
