The NALC works with tribes, conservation groups, educational

The NALC works with tribes, conservation groups, educational institutions, landowners,
and state and federal agencies to ensure the long-term protection of Native American cultural
landscapes. In 2014, the NALC received over $500,000 to add a new level of protection to one
such site, the 2,560-acre Old Woman Mountains preserve. This funding allowed the NALC, the
Bureau of Land Management, Americans for Conservation Education, and private land owners
to enact measures that discourage poaching and illegal off-road vehicle use and provide
interpretive trails to educate tribal youth and the general public.
Please join us in commemorating this unprecedented partnership in preserving sacred lands by
celebrating our success and touring the sacred sites of the Old Woman Mountains Preserve.
