4th Annual Gala and Awards Night: Building a Legacy
The Nigerian-American Multicultural Council (NAMC) requests your support by sponsoring its 4th Annual
Gala and Awards Night, which will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Westin Houston Memorial City
Hotel, 945 Gessner, Houston, TX 77024. This year’s theme is Building a Legacy, and NAMC will kick off its
capital campaign to build a multicultural center for Houston’s Nigerian community.
The Annual Gala and Awards Night features entertainment, networking, authentic African cuisine, a
silent auction, and a keynote speech from President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria. 250 attendees will gather to reflect on NAMC’s progress and its vision for the upcoming
year in an upscale environment. Past attendees include Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Houston
elected officials, Houston diplomatic corps, executives of Houston-based oil and gas companies and financial
institutions, and esteemed young professionals. This event can increase your organization’s branding in the
prosperous Nigerian-American Houston community and serve as an outlet for your organization’s social
responsibility targets.
NAMC is a Houston based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that seeks to build a vibrant Nigerian
community in Houston. NAMC focuses on four core areas: professional development, mentorship, cultural
enrichment, and community development. Among the programs held in 2014 in furtherance of the NAMC
mission were the following: Expanding Horizons: Career Discovery, Expanding Horizons: College Admissions,
three (3) roundtables focused on entrepreneurship and the legal field, and the Festival of African Arts, Culture,

The objective of this year’s gala is to launch NAMC’s $3 Million capital campaign, which will fund a
Nigerian-American community center (NAMC House). NAMC House, the first Sub-Saharan African cultural
center in Houston, will be a civic center for the Nigerian-American community and a learning center for the
Houston community to understand Nigeria’s rich and diverse culture. We look forward to your partnership with
