From The Principal’s Desk
Dear Parents and Friends;
EDUCATION WEEK ACTIVITIES:
It has been a fabulous week as we celebrated Education Week, with lots of fun and extra curricula activities taking place throughout.
Grandparents Day was as usual, very well attended. It was a delight to see the excitement on the children’s faces as their special
grandparent/s came to school. I have posted a large number of photos on the “Photo Gallery” link on the website, so please take the
time to check them out and share them with those grandparents pictured that attended. I would like to thank the PAFA team and other
volunteers for their catering – there were certainly plenty of home-made treats to tempt everyone. The PAFA team also remained
throughout the morning to serve tea and coffee and helped to clean up afterwards – thankyou so much ladies!
We had over 40 families attending our Maths Family Fun Night on Tuesday evening. Once again, the pleasure on the children’s faces
as they put their parent’s mathematical skills to the test was priceless! All families who attended have had their “Passports” (whether
completed or not) placed in the draw to win a great raffle prize at tomorrow’s assembly. Good luck to everyone! I would like to thank
my dedicated team of teachers who remained at school well after hours to provide the community with such a wonderful family event.
Our final activity for Education Week will be taking place tomorrow (Friday) with our whole school Science Rotations. The children
will be working through a number of engaging experiments in a variety of classrooms to challenge their Science understandings.
SAFETY:
For those of you who have been up to the school this week, you will have noticed
that Graham Cox, our school handyman, has installed some non- slip rubber strips
to the steps of the Foundation classrooms. This added safety measure will help to
ensure that the steps are safe to use, particularly in the wet. Please take care when
using the steps and if you need to, please use the hand rails provided.
Kind Regards
Mrs Fran Van Lambaart
FOUNDATION ENROLMENTS FOR 2016
Planning has begun for 2016. For those families who intent to enrol their child for next year, could you
please return their completed forms ASAP. This is most important as it will enable us to accurately plan
for the 2016 year
A W A R D S
Congratulations to these children for receiving this week’s awards.

SPEED AROUND THE SCHOOL
It has been noted that some parents are NOT adhering to the speed limit round
the school.
Please be aware that Spencer Street is 40kph at all times. Although we don’t like you
to be late to school this is certainly a better option than possible injuries.
Illnesses At School
It is that time of year when there are a
large number of illnesses around. If you
think your child is unwell it is advisable to
keep them at home.
Please note that at times, police do patrol the area and people have been booked!
Every child who arrives late to school must be
signed in at the office.
Every child who leaves early must also be signed
out at the office, including the bus book.
MONEY AND NOTES TO THE OFFICE
When returning money to the office please make sure that it
is securely enclosed in an envelope that is clearly marked with
name, grade and what it is for.

ABSENCES
It is the Department and our School’s policy that when
a child is absent we must receive an explanation either
verbal, a note or a phone call either on their return or
at the time of absence.
Our records show that there are currently a large
number of unexplained absences.
