National Speakers Association Message Stick And the winner is... Your speaking business I hope that those of you who attended Convention had a f-an-t-a-s-t-i-c time. We welcome your feedback on how we can make next year’s event on the Gold Coast (April 811, 2016) even better. We also welcome your volunteering to help organise next year’s Convention. There was much to enjoy at Convention and so many great speakers. It was also my great pleasure to host keynote speaker and US National Speakers Association President Shep Hyken and GSF President Lenora Billings-Harris. In this edition of Message Stick you can read what others thought of Convention. A non-speaking related message that I took away from Convention was from retiring Head of Army Lt Gen David Morrison AO. He pointed out that the larrikin Aussie soldier, who has disregard for authority and pommies, is not the only ANZAC story. He said the untold story is of the indigenous soldiers and women who served and died too. Lest we forget! At the AGM we also welcomed in a new President. Congratulations to Michael McQueen. I am very pleased to see this generational change at the top of our association. I dedicated my term to putting in place the governance framework and other system changes to help the next generation take the Association to a new level. Michael will take up his post in August.
