I respectfully disagreed (imagine that). As servant leaders, we have the privilege through our actions, words, and sometimes just our presence to make a difference in the lives of all that we encounter. I would like to share a recent “Thank you” that we received from Geena Piper, a Norfolk Catholic High School student participant. Geena’s “Thank You” is a heartfelt testimony of the value of what we do! It is Never “Thankless”! “Thank you…..for two of the most incredible weekends of my life! I was lucky enough to be a member of the Norfolk Catholic Lady Knights basketball team that qualified for the Girls State Tournament. What a fantastic experience – great memories made, new friendships formed and old friendships rekindled both on and off the court. Not to mention the outstanding hospitality we received from EVERYONE in Lincoln – from the ticket takers to the referees….even the church we attended that weekend went out of their way to make us feel welcome! This past weekend, being back at Pinnacle again for the “Believers and Achievers” presentations, I was humbled beyond words. I just wanted to thank you and your entire staff for the work that you do in orchestrating these events and for creating and sponsoring the “Believers and Achievers” program. What you are doing truly makes a difference. These events and honors motivate and inspire us teens to keep working hard, to always strive for excellence, to be courageous, and give us something to always aim higher for….on the court, on the stage, in the classroom but most importantly with our character and choices. Beyond the medals, trophies and accolades, what I realized MOST these past two weekends is just how very blessed and lucky I am to be a Nebraskan! Watching the double overtime game between Exeter-Milligan and Bancroft-Rosalie and seeing the Creighton Prep student section join forces with Bancroft-Rosalie to cheer on their team…Fantastic! Interacting with the media during the Girls Tourney – whether we won or lost - just seeing how much passion and love that these sports writers had for us kids…Amazing! Walking through the crowd both weekends and catching up with acquaintances from around the state that I’ve met over the years through Music, OneAct, and Sports…Best ever! All made me realize that this is where I want to be someday…right here in Nebraska. There is no better place. As my senior year is coming to a close all too quickly, I just want to say thanks for all that you and the NSAA staff do. Your work has made a difference in my life.” NSAA Important Dates & Deadlines “NSAA…the other half of education.” Page | 1 NSAA News – April – Page 2 NSAA Board of Directors Meeting March 2015 "NET NSAA Speech Championships: “Best of the Best” The March NSAA Board of Directors meeting took place Wednesday, March 11th at the Holiday Inn Downtown, Lincoln.
